Looks like winter came for a bit. -21 C/feels like -32 C with the wind, dropping to - 29 C, feels like -38 C with the wind. That's a bit brisk. Little stove is keeping up so far.
Brrrrrrrritski! It's still 50f here. Heading down to 37. The insert ' s cold, and the Hasting's running on low. It will run out of fuel tonight, and the propane fireplace will kick in. I'll get up early, clean out the insert, and start a fire so wifey can sleep warm while I venture into Muncie in search of decent pellets, and then up to Pop's to try to cut my way into a hoard in the front of the woods. We shall see.
Currently 40° we had some freezing rain that froze on overnight but now it's just rain thankfully. Ash and Pine burning.
31 High winds Small load of coal yesterday morning and shut off the forced draft blower. Never loaded yesterday or last nite and still some residual heat this morning with 68 in the house. Enough coals to get it going again. Running a new top secret chimney cleaning/rinse load now. Prolly coal and oak before I leave .
Well, we're still forecasted to be in the single digits tonight...just that it'll be on the negative side!!
Not here in MA, seasoned firewood costs more than oil! I have to buy most of my firewood seasoned because I don't have a lot of space for CSS and you pay a premium for seasoned split wood around here.
Got just above freezing today, down to 0 F. tonight. High of 15 F tomorrow. Already icy, with big puddles in all the depressions. Tomorrow will likely be treacherous, then at least 10 inches of snow tomorrow night into Wednesday......
Was around 35 today. Next few are suppose to drop down into the teens overnight. Been starting a fire every night after work now for a couple weeks, usually just burn on weekends but haven't had much going on after work lately. Been burning one load right after work and then loading up for the night around 10:30, and the heat will kick on about 6:30 in the morning. Upstairs is a little chilly by then so it's been perfect timing for when the Mrs has to start getting ready for the day.
It was like 75or 78 degrees down here in Jacksonville today. Took the family to the zoo when I got out of training today.
Clemsonfor! Going to get 6-10 inches of snow Tueday-Wednesday! Then it looks like -12 Wed. & Thu. night!
Yeah, unfortunately I have to buy most of my wood. I did get about 4 cords of red oak in log form last year so that's been a lot of fun cutting and splitting! I still have half the pile to split when I'm healthy enough.
