It was 60 degrees here today and this is what my wood rack looks like right now. I'll fill it tomorrow but no fire needed tonight. Crazy weather. 20160228_184756.jpg

Yup, crazy for sure! We've had plenty of precip, but temps to warm for snow. More wood next year is a good thing! Do I spy a misery whip hanging on your wall?

The big hand saw? I'd be pretty miserable if I had to use that all day for sure.

It only made it to 61 degrees here, but fairly windy. Weird weather for sure, but somewhat expected with the way this winter has been.

But beware, there will still be some freezes coming and maybe even a little snow. Next week, Thursday evening, the weather thing says we will get 3 to 5 inches of snow, and an additional inch Friday. The last snow that was forcast here never came. Instead, a couple of days of rain came.

So if y'all plan on planting anything, it might be prudent to wait until after Easter. Or at least until after the Forsythia blooms. I do have some bulbs already poking their sprouts up, but whether they will survive is another story.

Crazy weather for sure man. We are colder than you folks up here. 3-5 inches coming Wednesday for us and cold temps Thursday and Friday. I think we will have plenty of crappy weather through March. The lack of sun is getting really old up here.:picard::loco: :hair:

We broke a warm record high temp record today that was standing for almost 120 years. It hit 63 degrees in Milwaukee today.

That's what I did. Didn't throw anything on this morning to keep it going and started it up again around 7:00.

You guys seem to be getting it worse than us. Wednesday here is only supposed to be a 30% chance of flurries. We got some light snow here yesterday and last night but very little freezing rain. Headed down to -4 f tonight. You are right-on about march though. Long range forecast for us last fall said mild until February, then more normal winter like weather through March. So far, they are right on.

Caffein and breakfast Sammy in. Getting ready for a day of med appt. drives today. Everyone have a great day and stay safe.............

You're getting off easier than us southern boys. They're calling for another 8" of snow here on Tuesday evening into Wednesday:picard:

I would agree. Feb is usually the coldest month for us. Rarely above freezing yet alone 55 yesterday.

I ran out of wood inside last Sunday, and happened to get sick that same day. So I've been letting the heat pump take over until I felt well enough to bring wood in yesterday. Luckily it's been pretty warm here too so the electric costs won't kill be for just that week.

Managed to get one bucket load inside with the tractor. I lift the bucket up over the railing on the deck so I can carry it inside and only have one step up into the doorway, instead of 4, with an arm load of splits. The yard is so wet I needed the diff. lock to get unstuck at the stacks. One bucket, only 4' wide, is a few days of heat so I'll bring in the rest once the ground freezes up Wednesday night.

Planting? Even though it's warmer than normal we can't plant until Memorial Day. We don't get leaves on the trees till early May. Although they might be a little early this year. Right now it sugaring time, and the saps running good.

We have 16 on the back porch this morning. Ash going on the boiler. The weathermen were a wee bit off on the snow totals. I don't think we got an inch altogether. Just a little shy of the 8-12 some were saying.
