That's a tough one. Ive seen em look worse....and I've seen em look better. If it was rebuilt with OEM parts ..that would be good ! Those are tough saws...and it can be made into a 272xp if the day should come ! Hmmmmm...I'm gonna say....I...personally...would consider it ! I'd go look at it..run it..check comp....go from there ! Would make a great Firewood cutter
I personally feel these older "2" series saws are the best Husky has made. They are stout..great runners....and zero problems getting new or used parts ! And...easy to work on
It looks like it was ridden hard and put away dirty. As was already suggested, if he can show a receipt that OEM parts were used, then maybe. But probably not more than $140. Funny, if the guy would go to the trouble of buying a new bar and cleaning it up a little, he could probably get a little more for it.
Yep. Those 200 series saws were the pinnacle. None have been made better. That one, if rebuilt with good parts would be a great saw no doubt. Regardless of how it looks on the outside. But, not knowing those details, and the appearance too, who's to say? I've found out that MOST everybody selling something will misrepresent it for the sake of selling it. Add on the cost to rebuild that saw with OEM bottom and, a quality after market top end is going to push $200 if you do the work. On top of the $200 purchase price, you are in the neighborhood of buying a known to be taken care of, used pro class saw. I'd meet him and fire it up. If it ran like it should, I'd start at $100 and go $125 tops. Unless I needed a saw. $150 then and, only if it sounded the part. If he wouldn't do that, I'd thank him for his time and be on my way. That's just me. God Bless
