25 now, supposed to drop to 20 overnight. Just a quiet mild night with the moon trying to break out every now and then.
36 this morning with rain. More nasty rain. Water everywhere. They do have the roads in the country scraped down and banks pushed back so the water can drain off. The "City" is another story. What a mess.
I have t seen a winter like this in a long time. We've had 6 snow events of 6-24" each since late Oct and they have all melted off before the next .Usually it just builds and settles a little before the next. 33 now. Was supposed to be low 40's till noon and then rapidly drop. Kinda screws up today's plan of hauling. Haven't loaded for the day but prolly a slice of oak and half bucket of coal.
60 degrees and sunny, beautiful weather. I am enjoying the respite, but it just ain't right. damm poor sledding round these parts.
lost power at 5 PM yesterday, just got it back about an hour ago. In the thirties out, about 2 inches of slush. Snowing, after a significant icing event yesterday. Going down to 3 tonight. All that slush is going to be ice. Snowing, and the trees are already covered with ice, then snow. Lots of branches gone, smaller trees bent to the ground. Apple trees the branches are dragging in the snow. Windy out now. Hoping we don't lose power again. Filling the tubs, charging the batteries, etc.
I lived through just the opposite Sherwood. We had lots of heavy snow yesterday with air temperatures a bit above freezing. Overnight the temperatures dipped below freezing and the surface of that melting snow froze. This morning the dogs were not enjoying their walk the way they usually do because they would walk a few feet on top then break through to the snow underneath. We came back much sooner than usual because they were just having no fun.
34 OAT here....Very windy, snow blowing around, nill accumulation.... Pecan and shag doing the job. Mid 70's inside.
27 °F out burnin ash n maple, got 11.9" of snow , low tonight 19 °F , snow will be melting , Sat High: 43 °F, Sun High: 52 °F
This is a result of the winds down here . I saw this today while at work/training. Talk about parking in the wrong spot. Being bummed out when going home, walking out to see this. Or just not believing your buddies when they come in and tell you there is a tree on your truck. Quick test....can any of you name that tree? Yes I know it's a pine but what kind/species?
It broke the back out. And I am not sure who's it is. I am on training and this is not my normal work area.
28 here now. Suppose to go down to 7 tonight. That should be a quick drop! Pine and Ash gasifying in the boiler.
