It started around 9:00 this morning but took a while to really get going. Still, nowhere near what was forecast and they are still forecasting a big snow tonight. I think it is almost over and we got maybe 3". More to our east, like HDRock stated. It is a very heavy wet snow with wind too so happy to not get much out of it.

Tim, we don't get wind like that very often and that pleases me. How was the wind crossing the big bridge?! That can be exciting.

Just shoveled off the back patio so the dog could make it outside to take care of business. It's like shoveling concrete.

Can't wait to deal with the driveway tomorrow. :hair:

Heard from the Fire_Chief down in Tuscola, IL. They have been out of power most of the day and I think they got more snow than we did but fortunately it is melting. We have some melting but not big time.

Started real slow about an hour ago, but it's coming down at a good clip now.

Power flickered on and off a few times. Sounds like the wind has picked up a bit. Can't see anything outside as my windows are plastered with snow and I don't feel like sticking my head outside to see what's going on.

On a brighter note, should be back in the 40s in a few days.

Nothing here, no snow or rain. Just wind. Hopefully the beech widowmaker in my woods comes down all on its own.

Snow (if that's what you want to call it, more like slush) is all but done, but the wind is still legit.

They had a wind advisory and a reduced speed for trailers. Wasn't too bad on the bridge

getting pounded here in Northwest Indiana. Blizzard warning, strong winds with gust's of 50 mph. Lost the power at 6pm. Running generator and wood stove. Being on a well and septic the generator is a huge bonus to have. 60 degrees and sunny on 2/20/16 and heavy wet snow, lake effect snow, wind and drifting on 2/24/16. Indiana at her best!

I just don't go out! Temp going up tonight. Should get rid of any ice out there. School was closed today, Grandchildren stayed home.
Pm news said still 6000 without power in this county and two others. No issues here.

The snow just stopped about 8am
I haven't been out yet, but need to get a few splits of firewood and start shoveling.

    Looks like another 9".
    Shoveling is fun........not.
Got about 1/2 of the drive area near the mailbox shoveled, and the walk to the house too.
Need to go back out to finish, so our "neither snow, nor sleet, nor dead of night" guy will deliver the mail.:headbang:

    I don't get it.
The road crew guys went by a little while after I was out shoveling. For some reason, they can't figure out how to drive down the wrong side of the road with the plow angled AWAY from all the drives on the south side. All 4 houses are on the same side. Fields and ditches on the other.
Wouldn't be any more work to do that, but would save me a lot of work, even if I was able to use the tractor.
With the way the wind is blowing, the driveway may end covered again anyway.......:headbang:

We ended up with a new (again) plow driver down our street. Gotta give the guy a lotta credit, because that is exactly what he does-plows to the other side of the road!!
But of course, he is a former HVAC guy, so......

    :D

We got nothing but a TON of rain late last night. And even some thunder and lightning!
