Yup every 9 months and a few days:bug::bug::bug:

Then after they make the indentured child labor force do all the work, they retire about 55 years old. The retirement sale, selling everything. Family, has to buy items just like the rest of us. The youngest male gets the farm.... if he takes care of mom and pa for the rest of their lives. Quite the set up. :zip:

At the price of the Merc's you would think they would be pretty good.

Like everything, the $$$$ goes up and the quality goes in the toilet.

I think MB went through a penny-pinching phase in the mid to late 90's where their quality went out the window. There was a pretty big backlash and they lifted their game.
Believe it or not MB sells more cars in Australia than Ford.
I still think the MBs are pretty expensive and our far cheaper Audi is just as good. Mind you with the stunts that VW has been pulling it will be interesting to see if they dont go broke.

    Yup.

VW, with their playing games with the emissions stuff is going to cost them.

Be interesting to know about who knew what and was in on that scam.

    Pretty crazy stunt.

Not that I approve of a lot of the emissions laws, but when ya fool the law, then they get really pizzed when they find out they were hoodwinked.

    Could put them outta business.

They could have done it so it would not be discovered, but we all know about 3 can keep a secret if 2 are dead.

We have a saying; if trying decide between a stuff up or a conspiracy put your money on the stuff up every time. In this instance I reckon this went down like the "Sorcerer's Apprentice"; some nong picked the trick, started something he couldn't stop and it all spun out of control. From what I have read a couple of guys in the racing division made a bucket load out of it but that is about as far as it went. I reckon if the bigwigs had found out early enough it would have never happened as no one should be that stoopid.
The bigwigs knew for more than a year before they got caught. They were quietly trying to wind back the problems to get away with it over the longer term and would have if those US uni students had not done that real world test.
They were crooks and will get what they deserve, more than can be said about your mates on Wall St.
