the only thing i need to do to the 52I is in shoulder season (which has been most of the winter it seems) the stove will shut down and let the house cool from 70 -72 to 64.

if i want to start it, i take a bag of ice cubes from the freezer and apply it to the sensor, strategically placed to 'see' the solar gain during the day. that way i do not have to touch the temp dial and disrupt my 70 -72 upper end.

I have had basically the same exact washer as that for 1 1/2 yrs., and have "0" issues. Clothes are just as clean as previous "old style" washer, and I wash almost everything w/ cold water. I don't attempt large, bulky items like queen comforters & blankets....they go right to the industrial washers at the local laundromat.

Wow you must be getting the squall line as seen on the radar right now, 8:53PM It starts south of Washington DC and comes almost all the way up here in upper New York. We have the flash and bang thing going on with heavy rain. Sat TV is out every few minutes.

I got home last night and shoveled the snow and rain off the driveway - except for the pile of snow that dumped off the roof (barrier to water getting into the garage). Woke up at 2 AM to heavy thunder. Got up at 3:30 and opened the back door for the cat to go out, expecting 40-50 like the weather guessers said. Nope, 30* and slick. Pile of snow on the driveway was undiminished. First 7 miles this morning was slow because of ice and slush (at both the bottom and top of the "hill" - 600 ft difference).

About 15 miles from work, I finally hit warm air - I could tell because I had to turn the heater in the truck off. Not betting on the warm air hitting my place today. That's okay, my back yard is flooded and I have water coming up thru the cracks in the basement floor (not the foundation - the floor itself), so don't need more water until the ground thaws a bit.
