Though this pic is a couple years old, it is typical of a pre-season load heading for the garage for burning upstairs. The wood shed is a good 150 yards away, and I like to make the trips count. I also fill the basement storage area in late fall before the rains soften the yard too much. You know...the ruts. Just can't figure out where they come from...... must be the stacked wheel weight counter balance on the back of the Kubota.

Hmmm... just noticed there's a little wind missing in the trailer tire.....

Yup! Saw that tire also. But just think if you were to hit a bump, the wood probably wouldn't jiggle off as if the tire was filled up and hard!!
    Looks very clean.

You are absolutely right sir. But then again, I don't try to break any land speed records tugging around a two-bagger with the little tractor. ...and then there's the 'clerarance' issue......or maybe the lack of clearance.

Oh, I dunno...its a 4 x 8 trailer, so..... anyway, this load fills the garages indoor rack nicely then as this is used and weather allows, over the winters course it is topped off with little jags of wood using a fuel-tank trailer. Being admitedly quite the lazy guy myself, I figure keeping the rack topped off keeps the wifey from having to bend over too much carrying wood inside to the not-so-great room. See, I'm a real gentleman huh.

When luck befalls us in the 'estimating wood use' department, we sometimes get lucky enough to only end up with a wheelbarrow or two left at the end of the season giving us back the garage space for the summers junk collection..... Then the circle of burn repeats and repeats and repeats........

Looks to me like you have the "clearance issue" figured out just right!

This is one of the 'repurposed' fuel oil tank-trailers we've built over the years. I guess there's a dozen or more floating around out there pulling gardening or firewood duty....

We were needing just another little bit downstairs to get us through the last bit of the winter, so this past Friday I shuttled a stick or two to tide us over. No worries about the indoor storage and moisture issue because there really ain't a lot to be concerned about as most toothpicks we burn have been split a minimum of three years before and stored under roof.

Here's the little fellow backing his hind end into the double doors to unload the fuel to feed the quasi-hungry now 36 year old Duo-Matic Olsen forced air wood furnace.
These old fuel oil tanks make perfect small trailers for the compact tractors. Creatively stacked, they can haul easily 5 or 6 rounded wheelbarrow loads. The load AND the trailer are noticeably smaller than the one in the first pic ain't they...

Now, I ain't saying I don't work the lovely little lady too awfully hard but evidence shows I sure don't waste money on gloves for her. Good women never complain when they get to live in a toasty home all winter long...... Maybe next Christmas I'll get her some new 99 cent jerseys. These may really be worn out by then....

That reminds me....I just GOTTA get her back on the splitter today....

Nice set up you have there:thumbs: but when I saw your screen name I thought I might see a pic of a Massey Harris 44 tractor, that's just what I think of when I see tractor and 44 together:rofl:

YOU ARE THE MAN !!!!! That is EXACTLY why I go by that username. I was born and raised on a matched pair of 44's and currently own several. My most favorite tractor in the world. Of course there's the 101 Supers and 101 Juniors and 101 Seniors and 30's, 33's, 444 Specials, Pony's, Mustangs and Colts to name a few......And NEVER, NEVER forget the beast of the Massey Harris line: the venerable 55 !!
