Years ago, my dad said that the old TV died because the VCR was sucking the picture out of it when it recorded TV shows.

My brother in law and I just looked at each other and smirked. :picard:

Ive had a matching pair of Samsung front load HE washer/dryer for 6-8 years without issue.

It appears that they all pretty much suck for service now. A friend had a year old Kitchenaide dishwasher that was dead for 2-3 months because of poor service and unavailable parts. The unit was finally refunded for full purchase price and we put in a cheap GE. At least when that does it didnt cost much.

Got 2-3 inches of snow over night. Enough that the roads were plowed around 5:30am but it is almost 40 degrees now and heading for upper 40's through Sunday so the roof is melting quickly. Probably going to just shovel in front of the garage about 20-25 feet out JIC of refreeze tonight and leave the rest to melt off as it likely will.

Then its getting the smoker out for some pulled beef tonight :grizz:

Same here but the warm front overnight came with 3 inches of snow...go figure

The main reason of shoveling a bit it to make a spot for the smoker to sit in that isnt just under the roof line where melting snow is making it rain there

True that it could go another 3 weeks and still preform very well , if I do it now it will take less time , not really super dirty this will be a quick clean not a deep clean .

I just bought a Samsung washer front load, and I am about to by the drying so we will have a matching set. The washer works perfectly, but it is new and I haven't any need to work on it. I was buying at Sears, but Lowes does free delivery and take away, next day delivery if in stock, and I get a Veteran's discount. So here is hoping I haven't made a mistake in my choice.

Many rank on Samsung and LG appliances for the lack of available parts. Some have told me that is BS.

They always rank at or near the top. I have an LG fridge as well as the Samsung washer/dryer set.

It works well but like I said ,it makes some crazy noises. It's a Fisher Paykel. When we first moved here 2 years ago it would take 3 hours to dry a load.:hair:So I checked the venting and found the trouble.25 feet of vent completely filled with lint.:faint:After I fixed that issue it takes 30 minutes to dry a load.Lucky this place didn't burn to the ground.

My take on the new washer "Technology" is that the wash cycle starts with much less water, agitates the clothes in the soapy solution to get the soap through the fabric, then drains the water, spins out most of the soap, then refills with water and washes more to remove more dirt and soap residue.

Then pumps out and spins out.

The rinse cycle is multi-phase as well, allowing more of the soap and residual dirt to be removed with each subsequent cycle.

Then the final spin actually removes more residue than the old style washers.

Old school actually rinsed the clothes in "somewhat dirty soapy water"

Here a while back I dumped a load of dirty jeans in the old washer and ran it, and for some reason forgot to add soap.

I think the phone rang or ????

The clothes were clean when they came out.

The old school systems left a lot of residual soap in the fabric that never goes away.

Sort of like taking a bath, after you wash all over, you are sitting in a dirty puddle.

YEEEEEEEEARS AGO my mom had one of the first front load machines (1960's) and that sucker really cleaned clothes.

It rinsed them then pumped out and while spinning it sprayed water into the drum to rinse more of the soap out before the final "warp speed run"

That machine really howled when it shifted into full spin cycle.

I think that the new stuff is way too far over engineered.

Since we have the micro processor, the engineers seem to feel that they need to have them everywhere.

Maybe they will include them on the cupboards next.

A digital readout cupboard that tells you whats inside.

    Coffee- 1 pound
    Oatmeal- 2 packs
    Dry creamer- 2 packs

    One spider
    One cockroach
    2 grams of dust
    Cobwebs

    Warning, spider entering oatmeal

    OMG

Pouring hard here. We had snow overnight, but the rain has washed most of that away. 39 F here now. I am itching to get out for a bit.

Most of us use waaay to much laundry detergent. It only takes a little to get the job done.
