    Yeah buddy.

Ours digested something and is making weird noises.

Gonna have to rip into its innards and see what it ate.

Plastic or something likely stuck in the maserator area

Thanks!! Looks like a good dryer. The knobs opposed to touch buttons would be my choice, but I am looking for a bit bigger one. Unfortunately I have not found one with knobs, AND, HD and Lowes do not deliver here, I looking at Sears and AJMadison.

Just because Will said he was watching "corn" yesterday you don't have to call him that!

The new units turn several times weighing the load and calculating the water to dispense. It's nice that you save money on water, but I believe we use more electricity. With our electric being more expensive than water? The savings may be less than one thinks. Our new units look nice and seem to be "better" but I've watched the wash cycle and I'm not sure they are actually "better" than the units of ol'.

I'm with Snowy, I like the fill it with water, wash, spin, and be done. In a old unit, if you have dirty (real dirt) clothes? There is a higher concentration of water when being washed. Which means more of a diluted water to to dirt ratio...

Take a teaspoon of dirt and place it in a cup of water. Now take that teaspoon and place it in a gallon of water. Granted there is a rinse cycle after cleaning. But less dirt going into rinse? Means cleaner clothes.

x2. If I could go back to my old washer with an unlimited water tap I'd do it in a heartbeat! And I never had to run an almost 3 hour "clean drum" cycle on my old upright agitator tub........

I was at Lowes today buying 10 more bags of Timber Heat and an old gent came up to me while I was waiting in line at the checkout and started talking about pellets. He said he heard on the radio today that one of the pellet mills in Maine had shut down due to lack of orders. I questioned him about which mill and he wasn't sure. He thought it was in the Norridgewock area. Well, the closet mill to Norridgewock Maine is MWP. Scot L's mill, who in my opinion make the best pellet in the state. So I hope he was wrong, but the bottom line is this might not be the last. Not just in Maine but everywhere.

The sales slump is what was discussed a couple pages back. With lower fuel prices (I still won't burn LP), demand lower pellet prices.

I hope that we see some good deals this year.. :D

The cheapest pellets I've seen in a few years were delivered today. All 6 tons of $199 /ton Chows were offloaded. There seems to be several bags that have water damage. But HD has always taken any damaged or wet bags back with no question for replacement. :)

Judging by the loose spacing of pallets on that flatbed you might have been the only stop... They didn't cover fuel costs for that delivery.

I know I was the only stop. That HD doesn't have a Flatbed that big. They said their fulfillment center out of Columbus (2 hrs from that store) was gonna have to deliver them. They said that was the biggest delivered order this year. They can only ship 3 ton on the truck they have.

They wanted to charge me the delivery charge twice until I said that the Ashland store delivers 6 ton at a time. It was only another $69 for extra delivery. But that takes each ton from $199 to about $223.

They made a call and got the bigger truck

The biggest issue was I had to call yesterday (Thurs) to see when delivery was. We bought them Sunday and they said within a day or two we would get a call. It took 4 different transfers to get to a person that could give me a number to call and get the fulfillment center. Thank goodness my wife can work from home at a moments notice.

They have always impressed me with the service, delivery, etc.. But this time was not that great. The wife still tipped him pretty good because he put 3 ton in the garage and 3 ton by the back porch, to take downstairs this weekend.

But after this last time. Maybe the 3 trios I would have to make (2 ton each trip). Or paying my buddy eatonpcat to take make 2 trips (3 ton per) would be better. ;)

Love my Samsung washer / drier set. But, I've never had to deal with their customer service. I got a screaming deal fall of 2013 at Lowes - 10% discount for buying both at the same time, sale for an additional 10% off, then I opened a Lowe's charge card for another 10% off. Plus free delivery and set up. Oh, and the ESP was like $50. And, they were in my favorite color - blue :D

Bought the bases off ebay for 1/2 off retail; brand new, in box (I was unsure how wet the basement got, so wanted the machines off the floor). Sure, they weren't extremely cheap, but I didn't find them out of line from other brands.

Got home to a surprise last night

No, the 2 tons of pellets weren't a surprise, it was the fact they were in front of the garage door. I had told them to place them in front of the shed. In fact, they had called on Thursday wanting to deliver then, instead of Friday, and I told them no, because the Explorer was parked in front of the shed. I drove the Explorer to work Friday specifically so it would be out of the way for the delivery. Plus, the car was inside so I couldn't even get them in the garage if I wanted them there. .

Now, this would not have been a huge issue if a storm wasn't due last night, and I hadn't had to work my 2nd job last night. But, the metal roof would dump all the snow (and rain) directly on top of the pellets. Additionally, I can't even get my snow blower out if needed.

I called Lowes and they tried to get ahold of a delivery crew to come move them for me, but they had all gone home and weren't budging. After some discussion, they sent 2 guys and a pallet (I have no spares) and they manually moved the bags to where I wanted them. I pitched in, so we each moved 2/3 ton in half an hour. Proud of myself as I kept up with the to young men (couldn't have been older than their low 20's - if that). And, one of the young men brought plastic wrap to protect from the elements

I must say, I'm impressed at how L*we's handled this as I am 30 miles away (drive time of 45 minutes minimum), so they could have just thrown up their hands and said that is what I get - after all the delivery was free and the pellets at $199/ton. Instead, they stepped up to make it right.

    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

When I replaced my dryer 6-8ish years ago, the guy at Lowes I dealt with was a former appliance tech. He mentioned that the manufacture and Lowes suggests replacing the power cord with a new one. I just rolled my eyes and said "from what I understand, a quality copper wire doesnt go bad over time". He laughed and agreed.

Hmmmm, although my washer does all that Snowey describes, my dryer still is a one direction and stop type. It is a match for the front loader with all the stupid controls.

I have wondered if a dryer that reverses would not turn blankets and sheets into tightly rolled balls that are still wet in the middle. How does your work for that?
