Seems to me like the 70* (in Fs :D) plus house temps that she has been reporting could be considered success already!

What I was stating, was my air wash works well. How many times have members already cleaned their glass this year?? Mine was cleaned once, just before a New years party, because we were having company. 6 weeks later? It looks like this.

That plate you see is the air wash intake plate. There is a ceramic fiber board on the top of the tubes on all 30-NC stoves.

As for the pin? They have been like that since new. I've tried graphite and oil the first year. But they always come up. Never came out. But I'll push it down. Thanks for the heads up! And as other stated.. It squeaks when down. Reason for graphite and oil (no worky)

Fricking A, 70 in Fs is better than 50 in Fs,.
    I would think so anyway

Right where I want to be.
Used graphite spray on mine and all I have to show for it is some stains on the stove.:headbang:

No, I am not going to stick two pointy prongs into my palm; besides, sweat contain salts and so that really does not bear on conductivity of wood; just the conductivity of sweat; or blood if I stick it too hard. However, I cut a tree today and I will stick it into some green wood and report the reading. The meter is supposedly already calibrated.

You are telling me, I am really enjoying having a warm house in the winter; the first since Mum died and even before Mum died we couldn't really afford to keep the house warm, not as cold as I have been keeping it though.

The stove does better at the end of the day, like now; I shut the door completely and it was burning fine.

I noticed the air wash plate has spaces at either side. Notice the smoke/soot pattern on the door. This is a new model so not many have it for comparison.

When you get comfortable burning that stove REAL hot, that issue will probably disappear....

For the sake of pointing things out, either it's a low light pic, or your firebrick has a slight "tan" color.... I get that when my air is cut down low in the smoke dragon. The brick in my stove is nearly bright white when the fire has burned down with considerable primary air.

I always get a build up of a little bit of junk on the sides while loading, (burning) small loads, not a big deal nothing to worry about. Once you start burning full hot loads that will go away

What's up with the indent in my above post? Couldn't correct it. Didn't initiate it, either. Weird.....

yes, when I know the burn level. I hope my thermo comes tomorrow. Speaking of thermometer, where should I place it, on the vertical pipe before the elbow, or the horizontal pipe after the elbow?
