Let's hope those higher winds don't hit here. I filled three five gallon jugs with gas last night for the Genny. Then cleaned the rest of the things up with the 2500 and plow from the last snow we got over the weekend.
They have us changing back to snow at 6 p.m., we should be fine here unless the heavy snow brings down some branches.
Heavy sideways rain here, flooding, waterfalls everywhere. Crazy weather for sure! Looks like even thunderstorms on the radar?
It rapidly warmed up. The roads are messy but not slippery. So I went to the YMCA and did my pool exercises. Then over to the VA to ck on some benefits. Looks like heavy rain and wind on its way. Temp is 46 F. now. I've asked my son to start up the Geni just to make sure it is Ok, Not that I could do anything about it if it wasn't. Should be 40F tomorrow. Not too shabby for this time of year. Much better than the deep freeze we had over the weekend.
Incredible amounts of rain fell here during the height of the storm. A line of storms with very little lightening went through giving some areas 70mph winds. My son was off today due to the weather and said all Is well at home. Just drizzling now, with some flooding.
Back over to snow now. The road crews and plow contractors have been busy. Plenty of folks in the ditches.
Thousands listed without power in this county. I'm still doing ok, but the wind is very noisy, and the rain is a driving rain. It can drive all by itself as I am not going to attempt to go our in it.
Same here now too Larry. Howling and sideways rain. Hope our power stays up... guess if we get to 10-11... it'll start letting up. Got our genny all ready to go... that usually means we don't lose power...
Fired up the little Kubota at 2:30 today, in a downpour, to push some slush and puddles around. What a mess. Had 6" of slush before and a lot less now but it's going to be bad out there once the temps drop on Thursday.
There should be plenty of moisture out there for this new "Potential" storm next week. The loop. WPC 6-Hourly QPFs for Days 4-7
you know, that is the set up we see when we get those nor'easters. No fun at all. We have some ice piled up in the Kennebec River near hear. The river has overflowed into the downtown parking lot in Augusta.
Bring it! I've only had the plow out for the 2 day storm when we got that 30", other than that is been nothing but nuisance storms.
