My 1 ton burn and questions on bottom feeder scrapers?

It's been in High/Low since last night. Hasn't kicked to High in awhike. Getting a very large clump on the right hand side.

 

Figured I would update this. We had some Super cold weather last week and I didn't want the kids to freeze in case something happened to the Fahrenheit. So I did scrape the pot clean.

I had burned 23 bags in the month before I cleaned it. I was tempted to not touch it? But -40° F is scary cold. I wanted to be 100% sure it would start, in case the furnace ran out of fuel, or another issue came up.

The ash pan is still not even half way filled and I have burned over 30 bags since Dec 9th when I cleaned it.

Gonna clean it tonight, and start over The glass needs cleaning bad. It stays clean if it burns on/off and runs hot all the time. But high/low, it gets pretty dirty, pretty quick.

 

Interesting pattern. Looks like the air wash is not just on the bottom of the glass?

 

Open on all 4 sides. If it's in On/Off, it will only get 3 Areas at the top. (Where the 3 dark spot are in top left). Otherwise it stays very clean because of the wash on all 4 sides.

Been burning in High/Low a lot lately. So she is a little dirty. Will post pics of ash amount and inside of stove later.

 

The Wife wanted it cleaned for Christmas. I told her it wasn't happening. The experiment was in place and door was not being opened. Then, came the Arctic Air (Polar Blast, whatever they called it! It was COLD!) Air temps of -10° to -15° and windchill of -35° to -40°.

So I opened the door and tool 3 swipes with my scraper (3 seconds).

 

I guess I'm spoiled with my beast's air wash.

How many bags did you burn before you opened the door?

 

23 before the cold hit and by the time I clean it today, it is at 30.

 

That ain't half bad, I know peeps that bought a fancy stove and the glass is much worse than that after just a few bags.

I got lucky with the Omega. Didn't really want a door with full glass. But I bought it because of all its better features. Was amazed at how clean the glass stays. I've burned over 45 bags and still saw fire even on hi/lo. The bottom of the glass stays clean. I've posted pic's before. Its about the best I've see so far. I hope they didn't change it on the Maxx M!

Yeah, that's a slide. The LCD Touch screen panel is connected to ot. When the control panel is not needed, it slides in behind the stove. When you need it, just pull (slide) it out

Everything on this stove is easy to access, service, and clean. Almost all motors are removed with 2 clips, the control board (actual circuit board) is in a box on the back of stove. 4 little clips and it's off, burn pot is 2 clips, ash traps and combustion blower clean out have large doors that only take a 1/4 turn from a screwdriver to remove and clean behind. The troubleshooting guide allows any and all motors, blowers, and ignitor to be manually turned on to see what works or if there is an issue. Hour meter counts actual run time and a separate timer for ignitor run time (to get an idea of the service life).
