my day started out real good... wife woke me at oh 6 or so......nice valentine present!:D:D:D:D:D then after breakfast she tells me the toilet next to the kitchen won't flush. wow i said - you took such a big :fart: it won't go down???? no she says, only peed - there's no water in the tank. frick, it's on an outside wall and with the pellet stove going the basement that was 70+ with the oil running 100 percent is now perhaps 55. must be froze up. placed a 1500 watt heater aimed at the toilet inlet valve. after an hour the water flowed. i plumbed it 16 years ago so there is no one to blame cept me. :headbang::headbang:

went to get my phone to go out to the workshop - i've had enough stress for the day. Son David called - four times! called him back - his truck won't start. He's at the lame as% girlfriends condo with his 99 powerstroke and didn't plug it in (the truck that is!) (dumb as&) it won't go now the battery is low. i'll run down and we'll pull start it as it's a stick. got there to see that he plugged it in - kinda like locking the barn after the horse has left! got him going.

went to HD for heat tape and installed on pipe in basement. will run the little 1500 heat unit on low for the night aimed at the toilet valve. then over the summer i'll move the pipes from the wall to coming out of the floor. no going through crap this again!

rest of the day was good...working on the Atlas. now it's time for wine and visit with my honey!

Well came down with a bad cold yesterday, pretty much ruined wifeys Valentines day. She has been pampering me most of the day, made breakfast, getting me fluids, listening to me whine, etc. Put the e2 on run last night and loaded with Blazers, house nice and warm. Watched Daytona qualifying this afternoon and watching Pomona Winternationals now and Team Kallita are in the finals. Wish I felt a little better, but things are good.

All told there will be 8 ton here shortly. All pistols and rifles are loaded and in close proximity. CCW is highly recommended here.

For the price? I'd really look into at least buying a few ton B (Eaton). They really are a good pellet. And $60 cheaper a ton than the Sets.

If you bought 6 ton of the Chows instead of 6 ton of Sets. You'd save $366. Or buy 3 ton of Chows and 3 ton of Sets for the colder months and you still save $185 (or enough to buy a 4th ton of Chows).

The lady at HD said 3 people came there today and specifically stated they wanted those pellets. So she asked why these and not the Tru glows? Or whatever other junk they had? Then I went into a 5 minute rant of "Why". So my wife was like "Whoa!! Hit the Easy button! She doesn't need the detailed pellet professional version!". Lmao.. :) I like talking pellets!!

But at the end, the garden center lady in charge of pellets, and the lady at the serice/shipping desk were more wiser and said they would look into getting pellets that were of a better brand.

So tomorrow I have to stop in there and I will be leaving a short list. Somersets, Clean energy (a MUST!!!), PTL, Stove Chow, and whatever other pellets that people like at their local HD? Any thoughts on what other names? I have heard a lot of good about Fireside Ultras?

Yep, FSU's are pretty good and usually one of the lower priced for a BBS.

They are the Canadian Stow Chow , same company ,they are a blend hardwood / softwood . That's what I burned during this arctic blast , kept the home at 70* and I have all kinds of softies I could have roasted including DF's  the FSU's worked very well for me Harmone stove's well insulated home so your mileage may vary :D:cheers:

I take what I hear on here as truth! All of us are seasoned burners with many years under our belt!

The Stove Chow were the same way! Several of you said they were a great pellet! And they are def better than the standard hardwood PTL (not by much in heat, but in ash they as a lot better)! That was the reason I bought 6 ton today!

Thanks again! This community really looks out for one another and we all benefit from it!

Interesting, I browsed through the HD ad in Cheyenne, no pellets in it at all.
