Woke up to -14 outside. 74 in the kitchen. Been burning maple and oak.....My dog had major surgery a week ago....needs to be walked on a leash... -32 windchill I'll tell my wife to bundle up.
-24 on back porch now. They say real feel is -38. The bubbling goo is keeping the Peerless boiler going this morning. Some churches have cancelled mass/services.
We're at a regular temp of minus twenty nine with the temp trending down. If AccuWeathers winds are correct, the realfeel for this area is around -50.
We only got down to -6 last night and the winds subsided sometime early. I do think I saw a polar bear walk past the window, mumbling something about thewoodlands and dessert. Will load up some oak and hickory here....
No rides in the Rhino today for sure! For whatever reason, the temp bottomed out at -20 and then pretty much rose as fast as it fell. All this happened around 12:00-1:00.
We went last night. I seem to remember only once when church was cancelled. I think it was due to the fact that the priest didn't want the elderly to attempt to go out in the cold. Many years ago.
2 Degrees and I'm throwing in some more Hickory. I'm about ready for spring and breaking out the fishing kayak........
We again exceeded expectations and instead of merely hitting our forecast low of -7, we hit -15. That's what it was at 4:20 this am, so I'm presuming that was our low. Officially (Accuweather) we're at -3, but here on the old homestead, we're at -11 at 7:30 am. Let the warmup begin.......please. Thank you.
Got my feet propped up on the stove in the shop. Trying to get this place up to temp so I can bring baby piney out here. Temp around 0° outside and 30° in the shop. Slowly but surely!
