Its 3 am and I was woke up by the oil boiler . I have the tstat set @ 70 so the pipes don't freeze, it's -21 outside and the wind is blowing. :shiver: I hate it that warm in the bedroom  There's antifreeze in the system, but when it's this cold out I get nervous. :faint:

I never would have thought it at the time but learned a hair dryer in the right spot got me out of a jam like that. Did it more than a few times after that until I did away with our crawl space. Hope it frees up quick for ya man.

Had a bit of a WTF moment this morning:

I went out the door to take a walk (and get a cup of coffee at the7-11) and I noticed that there was a bit of white smoke coming out my chimney. I thought it probably was mostly steam/condensation but thinking it was a little excessive I went back inside and opened the air up a bit more. Fast forward to my return on the walk. I rounded the corner and am looking down my street, there is a massive blue cloud of smoke billowing across the street by my house. WTF is going on? :hair: I try to burn it as clean as I can and I can't make that much smoke if I tried except on a cold ignition. Then after a brief moment I realized that it was coming from my neighbors, they had lit a fire in their fireplace. It was perfectly lined up with my chimney and from down the street I couldn't tell which house it was really coming from.

Nice to help a neighbor. God Bless you brother. Re the coyotes, around here the locals leave the coyotes and seldom have trouble. Where they get thinned out the feral dog cross breed coyotes fill the void and are nothing but trouble. Not saying don't shoot em but I kind of lean towards trying to find a balance. Good luck whatever you do.

Running pre-7 with a generic free ware operating system (Sun Open Office) and it meets my modest needs. Eventually I'll be forced to upgrade but until then I'm happy. At least I got to skip 7,8 and 10.

It looks like we'll have another cold night, a regular temp of -20.

The Liberty will get another load of Sugar Maple and some Ironwood with the Pellet Stove going in the other corner.

Got about 4" of snow today. Gonna plow out the old folks in the AM and drag the kids on the sleds in the PM since I have a day off tomorrow.

As soon as I walked into the Dave cave this morning, I would smell a strange odor of sawdust. Haven't used a saw sown here for a couple weeks now. I'll have to give it a bit more investigating once I get home from work.

Strange. Didn't notice it last night?
