clemsonfor is dead on 40:1 is a pretty safe all around ratio. Although I do like 32:1 in the spring. Tune the saw a little rich and hey where all the mosquitoes go! 44:1 is a common dirtbike racing ratio. If you like it and run your other ope on it I dont see any reason to switch.

For more info than you could ever want to digest search out one of the oil threads. The most recent one on OPE forum seems to have much less purse swinging than most others. I'd hate to see this get derailed into an oil thread :startled::rofl:

Have fun @ the outdoor show.

I agree I don't want it to sound like I am "saying you better use my oil at my ratio." In just simply trying to make it easier for Bob...no sense to have three mixes laying around. Just mix 40:1 and tune everything at that ratio and run it in everything. You and your equipment will never know the difference. Probably it will all still be tuned fine...not much difference in 40 and 50:1 . But if you don't hear that 4 stroke tune it richer. If you don't idle right you know how to fix that now as well.

I'm doing this with 44:1. One two gallon can for all the toys.

Oh ok. I thought you had a 40:1 can for one saw and 50:1 for the other and doing This one at 44:1 I was going to say that's way too much.

Didn't mean to sound like I was calling you out. I assumed Bob had one can at 44:1 :handshake:

I bet it's a super wide bore compared to stroke.

I am not enough of a builder to understand it but I do know that some of the older saws that have a distinct sound have a bore the same size or very close to their modern counterparts.

Yup runs great, seems like the grommet around the oiler tank feed pipe is pushing a bit of oil out but as much as this is going to get used i think ill just let it be.
