Nice. It appears that on a gas system, the power vent isnt a bad option since it is not subject to the much more corrosive oil burner gasses. I guess I am lucky mine lasted 21 years before its first hiccup. This being said, a power vent on the fresh air intake shouldn't be too bad. But it is still a mechanical device to break down sooner or later.

Got the 1 ton overdue cleaning done last night, went to put the combustion blower back in and the screwed stripped. I knew it was a matter of time with these screws, the metal is so soft. So off to the hardware store at 7 at night to get some stainless steel self tapping screws. Stove is running like a top now. Just got back in after securing everything we have a wind advisory tonight, with some very cold temps!

Reminds me when I was doing hvac work for a short time. Tech went to a customers house because the boiler kept popping the pressure relief valve, so he put a zip tie on it.

I spent a few days this week in Indianapolis. I thought Michigan went heavy on road salt, but Indiana takes salt application to a whole new level. One of these days when it warms up I'll hit the car wash and see if there is paint left under the layers of salt.

Moved 68 bags of pellets from the garage to the basement this morning. Showed me how unused to moving pellets I am - last year I was constantly picking up 10-15 bags, so the muscles were used to it. I've been pretty much a slug this winter, and having the 5 tons in place, gotten a little lax. Still wasn't a back breaker, but a little tougher than I remember it being before . Heck, last fall I moved 4 tons myself one day, so it's not that I'm naturally a wimp :emb:.

Picked up the Explorer; I had dropped it off Thursday night and it now sports a new bumper (old bumper was scratched in the accident). In the process of picking up the truck, I dropped off the Focus to have new headlights installed as the passenger side light went out last night. Have a Ladies of Harley meeting to go to in a little while. Happens to be within a couple miles of both Lowes and HD, so will check out prices and what they have. After all, I'm down to 1.3 tons of Presto's, 1.1 tons of ThermaGlo's and a few bags of FSU's and Platinum's (about 15 bags between the two) :D.

I woke up this am to -10* now it's -15* with a windchill of -38* The forecast yesterday said 1-3 inches possible with a lake effect watch, not a warning mind you. We've had so many warnings this year and had gotten about 1/2 inch each time. Last evening we both had to drive home from work in white out conditions. The roads hadn't been touched by plows, they finally came by at around 7PM. We got about 8 inches.

We have a lunch event with friends in a nearby town. I have to go out and clear the driveway with the tractor for the first time this season. So I figured it would be warmer around 10AM nope says the weather channels, it'll be -20* with a wind chill factor of don't bother going outside, -43*.

It hit -38*C this morning (-36.4*F) so I'm the only one who should complain about the cold, thank god there was no wind at the time. I had to go out and help the BIL start is vehicle after finding out the block heater was defective:doh:
