Here you go Matt. Small Japanese stove made in China that came with the house. Yeah enjoy reading stuff from back in the states. Train the monkeys I like it! I should also train them to cut the trees and load them. I will still leave the splitting to me though, I have to have something to look forward to.

I have burned a little bit of Chestnut and it is good firewood. it isn't dense like oak, but it dries nicely and will burn well. It is a middle-of-the-pack firewood. if you have already tried to burn some, then you burned it green and won't get a very good impression of it.

Do they have that at the Wisconsin state fair? Seems like they have everything on a stick.

Duck, thanks for the info. Have never tried to burn it. Looks like it would make some decent firewood. Will be splitting and stacking it this morning.

I would think training them to split and stack the wood after they pester the humans would be the ticket.

It looks a lot like the male pheasant I hunt on my place.

image.jpeg image.jpeg Got it cut, split and stacked. Was 75 here today which is very unusual. Rain tonight then back to normal tomorrow. On a bus to the airport to catch a 12 hour flight. Should sleep well after knocking that wood out this morning. Went to the cafe near our house and saw a truck pass with a load of wood on it, some kinda hardwood. My wife saw me perk up and told me to throttle back u just had a big score. Told her I still have about half of my little wood shed left to fill so still on the scrounge. Thanks for all the help.

Yeah, a true hoarder for sure! Sometimes while on a drive with 99, she will see me looking into yards at wood piles, shake her head and say something like "It's killing you isn't it?"

It is possible Oldman47. We have some in MI. Actually the DNR imported some many years ago when the ringneck count was really going down. I've never hunted them though.
