Hey Gang, Some of you remember the "BIG A$$" maple I had to take down this past fall in my neighbors yard, well I finished the stump off finally . Just had to get to it because it was a promise! Anyway, it was a "BEAR"! but thanks to Master mech getting the 441 mag back in shape it went somewhat easy yeah….. No splitting it, I just spent 4 hours noodling! I have curly "Q's" up to my…. Oh, and did I mention it made it to a whopping 24* today! I actually like working in that temp!
Good job done right there! I'm also impressed to see all the safety gear on as it should be. Not that YOU aren't always prepared.
Wow, NICE WeldrDave! Chaps look good and clean/ free of "Oops! What a chore- but you made good on your word. And that's gooder on you, and for them nice folks you helped! Awesome
Yea, they were new last year! I'm on pair # 2, My last pair was about 15 years old and just beat to death. I got those at Menards on there sale, I think they were $39.00, Good deal!
Nice work dave! You ever need something bigger than the 441 just holler . Oh and I enjoy working when temps are in the 20's too for some reason. No wind though! Once that dang wind starts blowin im out!
Yea, I'm the same way, yesterday was "nice" actually! I don't mind the cold at all like that, no wind. But you are familiar with down here, it blows non-stop till June. Then want you need a day to cool off in July or August, you can't buy a breeze! Thanks for the offer on something bigger, I may take you up on that when I start cutting wood for the XL! … In honesty, I've never needed anything bigger, I cut for years with my little 021 and an old farm boss. I can't remember but I think my old Dad had a 031 "years" back we used. I think that saw is now a beer can somewhere.
Nice work Dave. Noodling was the way to go with that puppy - I doubt you get very many "splits". Ill bet it made some real purdy firewood!
