Pretty much, anytime I want their attention I just say "Who wants to......" and it's usually followed by to go for a ride, or wants a treat. They always stop dead in their tracks when I say it, it's so funny!
I'm burning down coals in the Liberty so I clicked on the pellet stove, will pack that basement with heat so the floors are nice and warm.
Wind chill here is almost at -25 now. Highways are shutting down in the U.P. near the Marquette area and East. Typical for that to happen with snow and wind. It a nice road, just a bit too close to Lake Superior! Wonder about the people who live out that way.....
yooperdave, didn't like seeing that post. Good friends are driving to Marquette (or not!) this weekend to take their daughter to an open house for accepted students... As others have posted, we are to get cold for two days. I'll take it. We haven't had any real winter, so I can't complain about a few days of 30 below. I'm very glad that we have had about three inches of snow, and are supposed to get more until about 10 PM. At least the plants, which have all started to grow, will be protected from the bitter cold. I'm a bit worried about our fruit trees with the winter we've had: mild enough to get everything growing, then WHAM! Brought in two days worth of wood, have my emergency stash inside, as well as my Ironwood rounds in addition. Am golden for our two days of winter. Will only have to open the door to let the dog out. Had 5 stupid young deer, that have taken to walking up the cliff and browsing behind my wood pile, stand at the top of the cliff, 50 feet from the house and freeze FOR HALF AN HOUR looking at the house because Artan was going ballistic. They thought as long as they froze he wouldn't see them????Finally had to put him on leash and go out, to get the deer to leave. Artan had gotten so excited he was having trouble with his chest...... I used to like deer. Now all I can think when I see them is "Ticks, ticks, ticks." And now we have a new tick disease in the Midwest related to Lyme...just what we needed.
Those are some crazy wind chills thewoodlands! We'll likely see somewhere in the range of -15 to -25 when the winds have peak gusts up to 55mph. Will be pushing all oak, big chit and will probably do a middle of the night reload Saturday night. Stay cozy!
Accuweather, earlier this morning, reported snow for Ottawa Monday night/Tuesday, up to 25 cm. Remains to be seen if we get that.

HDRock , the wife will be cooking some chili tomorrow, that should warm things up. I think Mrs. Backwoods Savage is cooking the same cleanser for the ole Sav.
