Went with a Ridgewood 6000. Was going to go with CB, but with new EPA, they were out of classic models. Didnt have the funds for a fancy one. Heat house and DHW. Happy with it so far, basic unit, natural draft, aquastat.
Welcome to the forum. When I first saw this, I was intrigued about it as I have an OWB also, but then I got to thinking. Propane cost me about $2000 a year if I don't burn wood I typically burn about 15 cords of wood in my OWB If I had to pay for the wood at his advertised price, I would be paying $1800 for that 15 cord I'd only be saving $200 over propane - not worth the effort, IMO If I could find 8' splits cheaper than that, I would consider it but it would have to be cheap. A few tree services around me know that they can drop off wood anytime. Helps them, helps me and it's free.
Nice! Nice! Nice! And welcome to the friendliest (& ONLY proper) Firewood Hoarding forum around, bwhunter85! Great intro and pics, sir
Nice to meet ya bwhunter85, great folks here. You will enjoy it. I thought I've seen most of everything, but I never saw splits like that. Thanks for the education.
Just imagine when a stubborn one loads up and lets go suddenly. I'd be operating that thing from behind a big tree.
