Despite the easy winter, its getting a little ugly around here and I figured I'd use getting some wood under a roof as an excuse to hang out in the sunshine. Need to get out and cut some wood.

As many others have said, "wood is just stored solar energy!"

Need to get out and round up some more of that stored solar energy as it looks like I am closer to a 3 month plan instead of a 3 year plan right now.

You'll get there SolarandWood! I promise. It doesn't even seem like work doing it. I'm amazed at how well wood burns when it's truly seasoned. These folks around here got me on the right track.

S&W has been around long enough......he'll get back on track.
With the way this winter's been, it should help me get back to where I should be too. If spring shows up a little early, I should be able to peck away in the woods until about May.

:saw: Looking good Solar.......keep up the hard work.

I think it was Henry Ford that coined the phrase "Cut your own firewood and it will warm you twice" :fire:

Twice? Cut, split, stack, burn.... I count four.

Hahaha, it's more than four too.:dex:
I think bogydave has a thread somewhere about the number of times he handles firewood. He's got it down to 14 steps, if I remember correctly.

Ha also been around long enough to know to not get into this situation:headbang: Fortunately, the easy winter has meant that my primo stock hasn't been touched. That allows me to focus on Ash and split a little smaller until I am back in the good place.

    Life happens.
I plan to continue buying my way back into the "3 year plan" while also doing some cutting in the woods.
I've been considering going to the "5 year plan", if I can figure out where to put the wood.

Feels wrong but I am looking at the same thing. There is a guy here that specializes in Ash that I'm thinking I might try to work out a 3 year purchase with.

Same here. Found a guy last year who cuts a lot of Ash, Beech, and Maple.
I'll go that route, then maybe do a log load.
