I burned about 20 lbs of last years brand and had good luck. No clinks. Just started it up with a full load of barefoot. This will be the real test.

It takes a lot of poking and prodding with all of the instruments of torture to completely clean a St Croix stove and that includes their "furnace" units.

I just finished burning 40 lbs of Barefoot. Looks like I have to let them off the hook! One thing I noticed after the Leafblower thing, was the little sparks flying around the burn pot when pellets drop in. That's a good sign, looks like air is flowing well again. I would have sworn that thing was clean! Time for a beer!

Just some more praise about the leafblower clean out. My versa grate was making a knocking noise when I was having the clink problems. That noise is gone. The stove is running like brand new. I'll have to do it again in another 9 years!

BHags do you pull the grate out when you clean the stove? If you get a bad enough clinker or a build up on the grate it will push against the bottom sides of the burn pot

I pull everything out and scrape it clean. Now that the air flow is corrected, clinks don't build up, and it's running like new.
