So, is the Explorer a '15....'16? A little older?
Been looking hard at those. We want room, 4WD, tow. XLT would work, but also thinking the Escape would do fine.
Just want something with enough guts to get up and go a little, if i need to, although I don't drive like that 95% of the time.

2004 XLS - bought with 130k miles on it. It was an emergency buy when the tranny on my 2010 Jeep died and couldn't find another for it. Didn't have much choice on buying the Explorer - only 1 place close enough to walk to that sells vehicles (3 miles away versus 30 miles ), and the 2004 Explorer was the only one they had I could afford. But, it has done the job of getting me to and from, so can't complain.

I am sorry you had this mishap. I am glad however that it was your foot and not your typing hand!!

Going to have to tell DH to pick up his toys from now on?? :D

99 jumped up to reach a bread bowl from the top of the cabinets back on Thanksgiving and landed on her toes. They still aren't right. We're sure she broke them and she can't leave anything alone....just keeps worrying it and bending them with her hands, stuff like that. I told her if she doesn't stop, it'll be summer and they will still bother her.

    Heal fast! :pain:

Look at the Edge as well. In between size of the explorer and escape. Great vehicles, my parents love their 2014 edge they got new.

Most edges are 3.5 v6 models. More than enough snort. The escapes are at biggest 2.0 turbo 4 cylinders. I rode in my friends loaded 15 escape 2.0 ecoboost for a total of about 7 hrs. Nice vehicle, but a little cramped inside.

Explorers go for more $ edges in between. Escapes seem to hold used prices higher. Edges are just right IMHO.

Otherwise you could get a flex. Explorer chassis and motors, but way more room and they go for less $.

My parents have their 02 4.6 v8 explorer still too. Great vehicle.

Hauled in a load of wood before the rain sets in.

I think I cut enough wood Friday and Saturday to refill 3/4 of what I've burned this year so far. Got another semi load coming tomorrow.

Oldest daughter had an '08 Edge....her son uses it now.
She got a new Flex. I don't like that look.
Wife would really like the extra seating, but I don't see much need for maybe once a year time when we'll have more than 4 people inside.
I'm on the edge about the Edge.......:D

My dad has the Edge (2014) and loves it. Except that he went with 2WD, since mom has a 4WD Sportage, he really enjoys the vehicle.

Not a very good weekend here for the two of us. Starting on Wed, I could tell something was going on with my throat. By Fri, I was ready to call clinic care. Sat and Sun feels like swallowing razor blades with a lot of rattling going on with breathing. A lot of body aches around mid section. Took it easy all day Sat and so far Sun. part

99 is probably the most stubborn woman I have met! She decided to shovel the roof which I always do and would not take no for an answer. I could get it by mid week. There is no hurry, it doesn't need it, but there she goes. Well, about 45 minutes ago, she fell off the roof and said she thinks she hurt her knee landing funny. Add that to her suspected broken toes.

I'll have to check on her about dark if she doesn't move from the snow pile........
