The old back won't take much anymore but I got a little Pin Oak split today. Hey, a little at a time still gets er done Note the Uglies
Nice wood pin oak... I would say that's a goodly amount also. Slow and steady wins the race. You got some chunky monkeys too I see.
That's like 10x more than I split today, if you don't count the "splitting" headache I ended up with on the fifth Monday of this week! Thankfully, I booted that pain at 5 o'clock
Nice little score! How does pin oak split? Never had any so wondering if its stringy like white or easy like red?
Do your back a favor chief and put that splitter into vertical! At least you can "whittle down" the big chunks and then lift them easier, right? And I think the pile of wood nest to your gas meter is ironic!!
My son always helps me now that I'm old, but he is so busy with his job and kids this winter he hasn't been able to help. So I just keep plugging away.
Thanks yopperdave. Good advise. And I do stand it up to whittle down the big ones. Just prefer to stand up after that. Vertical, down on the ground hurts my back more. BS had tried to convert me but I'm at least as stubborn as he is so he has his work cut out for him. L
What do you mean, "just as stubborn?" More stubborn is more like it. Besides, you are older than I am.
