I doubt they would. The Curtis blades are quick attach to the loader when the host machine allows. But a skidder/dozer blade would probably amplify the not so nice attributes of this type of blade. Mechanically they are not nearly as strong as a conventionally mounted blade. They tend to dig in something awful (best on hard surfaces with skid shoes for snow removal) and lift the front end easily as well. I couldn't see one being nice to work with in the woods.
I'll bump this thread into 2016 with another trailer load of pre-snow harvested wood being moved to the official FPSSA* from a landing further back "in" on the property. Pretty whimpy winter this year, so far, the woods is still easy to acess with only 6" of snow. I'm going to take advantage of that and leave the rest of my "pre-snow" wood for when it get's to deep. These small stems are from thinning and it takes a lot of these small one's to make a decent load of wood, but I am realizing that just cut & stack vs. splitting, saves time on the processing end of things. *firewood processing & storage,seasoning area
Indespensible to me. Bought new in 2002. Not quite 1000 hours thus far and fluid changes are all its ever asked for. It punches well above its weight class. Then there's the tractor Buggy. By no means sporty, this thing likes to work. Mobile processor. The RTV is only a few years old, but has the same dependability of the tractor thus far.
Thank you. I like to keep my stuff looking good as well as running good. The tractor is a far cry from the old '63 International Utility. 4wd is nothing short of awesome!
great machines, RCBS I can never understand why they make the trailer hitches so low on the utv's though. My quad hitch is too low for anything that gets towed on highway and too high for anything made to pull behind a garden tractor
I have noticed this phenomenon as well. My small utility trailer rides nice behind the RTV and looks like a ski jump behind my truck.
I know on my Kaw. "Mule" the hitch is on the axle, putting any tongue weight down low. I think the company lawyers had something to do with the design, like so many other things.
I don't have a FEL. Has yours been as good to you as mine has? Which trans did you go with? Edit: I see the shifter now.
As do I. Can't justify it having an old 310 JD and a subcompact loader already. One day, I'd like to turn the 310 & 3130 into a 40 horse Kub with backhoe & loader...one day.
