BTW nice score Will, wish I lived closer so we could do a swap; I'd love to try some of those Clean Energys. Oh yeah, before I forget...the Man at TSC told me everyone thinks since we're nearing the end of the season and stores are so overstocked with product, prices are going to drop and there's going to be some great deals to be had. Then he says that's not going to happen. I said really, please explain. He says they are going to start sending TTs to stores that have excessive inventory, pickup product, and bring it to other stores in the area that don't have any, spreading the product around evenly so they don't have to lower prices. I chucked and said find me a store that has no or low inventory, there's no such thing! Every store around here has so much product on hand, you would think they each have their very own pellet mill on site!
Slant Fin Eutectic EC10 - Actually two of them with a step controller that will fire one or two depending on the load. Each one fires with a .90 nozzle (about 127K BTU input and 110K BTU output). The whole house heat load is about 225K BTU at 100 delta T. The boilers will fire alternate days so that they both wear about the same. I would not expect both to fore at the same time very often because of the way we "use" the house but for some future owner the system needs proper sizing. There is a choice of burner options but on my brothers suggestion we went with the Carlin pro burners. They are triple bypasses which concerned me a bit because the clearances are tight in the flue gas pass but it has a large swing out door that exposes the iron for brushing so I should be able to wipe the innards down mid season to keep the eff. up. Slant Fin claims 87% eff but my brother says in actual use 82 - 84 is more likely. I am good with that. Oil Boiler Corrosion Resistant Efficient Energy Star Slant/Fin
I don't burn pellets but pay attention to pricing as my company has dabbled in the raw material end of the pellet supply chain. There are 7 mills within 130 miles of here. Which makes pellets plentiful . Saw $199/ton at HD here the other day. That's the lowest I've seen it in prolly 10 years or more. The price rarely breaches the $219-$249 range around here even when there is a shortage. Go PIGS !
We're oinking it up like crazy!!! It is crazy though, really haven't seen these prices in 3-4 years or so. Even if the pellets are middle of the road it's still worth it to me at these $199 prices.
Scored some Chow's today with my daughter....we were bsing so much I drove right by the exit for the HD I wanted to stop at So we stopped at another one, they had Chow's and GS.
Wasn't there a sales rep that once said prices wouldn't move much this year lmfao. Looks like we were right......again
Yeah, they are still over $300 a ton at the place near me that sells them. But then again, they have LG's $31 more per ton then a place like 15 min away.
