Harbour Freight 5 Ton Wood Spittler On Offer

Harbour Freight has a 5 ton wood splitter on offer: $248.88 with coupon 74214641. You can use the coupon code in the shops as well. This is very similar to the used wood splitter I purchased on Craig's List. It is not a bad little wood splitter. Of course it doesn't compare to the monster 35 ton splitter I saw at Tractor Supply.

 

I saw that, not a bad deal.

 

I have split all my wood with one similar. Of course most of the wood was tulip poplar so was fairly easy to split but it did save wear and tear on my arms.

 

I use a 5 ton Earthquake splitter, similar in size and capability. I do all my splitting with either that, or by hand with a Fiskars x27. Sure I would like a bigger one (I have my eye on the HF 20 ton model), but this works for now, and has for the last couple of years.

I burn about 6 cords a year of pine, douglas fir, western larch (tamarack), and aspen.

Those HF 20 ton's seem to have a good reputation. I been thinking about one too.

Yep, that is what I have my sights on. After a new roof, a carport, installing the 30-NC ...

 

I did the NC30 last spring. Still need to build a hearth and install it :-(


And did the carport the summer before.
Did the roof about 3 years ago.

I had the Earthquake model probably 5 years ago.
Worked good for what it was.

 

5 ton is a bit shy for some of the real dense wood species - at least mine is- which isn't a big deal as the 30 ton will eat dang near any thing.
