Never suffered this kind of surgery before(2 cuts worth.) I had an umbilical hernia fixed in 2011, but that was localized to one specific area.... If I can stop tripping over stuff, remember to not bring an over full firewood tote bag in, among other follies, I'd say I'd be back to it from gut cut to wood cut(ting) in 3 months, but who knows.... papadave took a while, right PD?
You'll likely need to cut back a bit on lifting small vehicles, leaping tall buildings, and such. Had mine done in August of '14, and I still ain't right....although that may have nothing to do with the surgery.
Piggie.....soooo, Kimberly, where you at with this hearth project? I've got a box of 12 x 12 tile if you are interested, plus grout, and some mastic....

I did work on the chimney some today, issues with that as well, thinking of solving it with a pair of pliers; why do they call it a pair of pliers when there is only one? Anyway, just bend the dang thing so it fits.. I am really unhappy with the Selkirk supervent product.
Come on papadave, she left that kinda open to one interpretation.... I suggested the left over stuff I have, and she said, "yes, that's what I was thinking." Just looking for some clarity, so this project may meet with completion.
Eric VW I probably will use tile as the top surface material. However, the cost of shipping the tile and grout and thinset you have will be as much as just purchasing at Lowe's Home Improvement.
