If I won the lottery... I would probably move to the English countryside and build a new house with geothermal to keep the house temperate. The house would be big and open so the wood heat would travel well, with a cook stove, wood stove, and a fireplace with a big hearth for romance and cooking. It would have its own well, solar panels and a electricity generating windmill. Electric heat would be employed, if necessary, when I am on holiday. The big house would be amid a large property with gardens, a stream, pond, orchard, and a wood lot. It would be dark so I can enjoy the night sky. The only services we would have would be internet and mobile phones.
I also forgot, I would install a second freestanding wood stove and class A pipe and an Englander 30 to help heat this monstrosity of a house.
I was going to say if I won the lottery I wouldnt be anywhere that needed heat but then you offered a french maid to help so Im going with that Im just hoping she doesnt look like this
based on my life experience, seeing people who have money, lots of it. No Thank You you can keep it and I will continue on my lifes path AS IS.
Great song, great band. Can't believe all the airplay that one got considering its subject matter. Same goes for Walk on the Wild Side by Lou Reed.
Would I still cut firewood? Not in the first few years, or months. I would be too busy spending my loot on ridiculous nonsense. After the money runs out and after my brief stint in rehab, I would be back to scrounging, cutting, and splitting firewood.
Some of you guys are not going to be a rich as you think. Your state will take half in taxes. Then your wife will take the other half because of the maid, and............... Hell yes, I would still burn wood. It would be in a new house on a very large acreage of woods up in the mountains. Maybe 1000 acres. And oh, the toys work equipment I would have. Oh, the equipment I would have.
Yeah...I'd have to have a lot of money to live the dream, but I'd be in rural Wisconsin near Lake Superior on acreage...and I'd spend my time in the woods.
