Hey everybody, new to the forums but not new to cutting. Here are a couple pictures from this weekend. Lookin to throw the trunk of this tree on my mill and turn the rest into firewood.
Hey bobdog, my dog is autumn and shes a great dog, best ive had. She loves being in the woods with me. NYcountry, I have 20 ac in southern Indiana. In terms of firewood, I think I am two years ahead about but that's mostly because the winter here has been so mild. I havnt bunt much this year. Stinny, that little tractor always suprises me with what it can do.
Welcome to the club! Nice logs! Red oak, and red maple maybe? That's what I'd be doing with em too. Looking forward to some milling pics.
Shawn, its all red oak. I will dig around and see if I can find some milling pics. It was a big tree, 30+ inches.
Welcome to FHC Spencer... Looks like you will fit in here! Gather around the fire and share what you know
Welcome Spencer! Great intro, excellent pics! Close ups and wide shots- love it. on the chaps, too! Eager to see the rest of the set up...stacks, stove(?), stuff.... Glad ya joined up, I know Shawn Curry and a few other millers are looking forward to any contributions you can make to the "sawyers" section....I am as well!
Hey Jack, I wash my chaps and saw shirt after every time I go out in the woods. I read somewhere that the bar oil can break down the fibers reducing the effectiveness of the cut retardant material.
