Just a temporary lock we will reopen the thread after politics have been removed. This is not directed at anybody I know we all have our political beliefs however its not something we want here. I simply cant do anything with it right now and im sick as a dog and about to walk into the doc office....
This is a good discussion and would be great if we can keep it to the original topic. I went through and pulled pretty much anything directly political and responses to those specific posts. Please don't be offended, this is not me or any mod saying we agree or disagree with what was said. Just simply keeping up with rule that we wont discuss politics here at FHC. If anyone would like to discuss politics there is other places to do so and you are free to PM me or another mod. We've seen how political differences can affect relationships at similar sites and we want to keep that aside and all help each other out in the wood burning community.
I've been pulled over or in the car multiple times when carrying as well. Most of the time the officer just acknowledged and thanked me for letting him know and we went on with the stop. One time in Nebraska the officer asked to take the weapon while he had us pulled over. I honestly didn't care and let him pull the gun while we were there. Got pulled over that time for not seeing a speed limit sign coming into a small town and was going WAY over the limit. So figured any way to make the stop go better would help me.
How did those stops turn out? My cwp instructor was retired highway patrol. He said he liked seeing a cwp as he knew that person was a "good guy" that he didnt have to worry about shooting him in the back or jumping him or something. He said and many times I and other officers give that person the benefit of the doubt. He said we didnt and dont ignore anything but instead of a ticket maybe someone e gets a warning ...maybe not
PP, get better soon. I've had that nasty cold for more than a week, makes me grumpy so I don't post much.
Do your best to keep the politics outta here, fellas... That's one rule that we are very serious about enforcing. And I'm not directing this at one side or the other, it's a blanket message......
Most of the cops are totally cool and I haven't had one upset in any way. They have liked that I carry. A few just didn't care either way. My brother had an accident and the officer and him had a great discussion about what they each carry on them.
Just got back from the grocery store with my better half. Way better, although that's not what this post is about. We shop at Kroeger on occasion and use our shopper's card - whatever it's actually called. Talk about yet another 'list'. We only bought a few items tonight and a bunch of coupons printed out for stuff we've purchased in the past, just not this evening. Made me chuckle . . . damm lists. It doesn't scare me that the government knows I own firearms. What scares me is that a brief internet search will tell you every one of my past addresses as well as who my parents are. And apparently if the searcher wants to pony up some cash they can get even more information about me. Definitely wouldn't be worth the cost, but it still bothers me. Props to you mods - those posts are perfect. Many are passionate about certain political topics (myself included), but that's not why we pull up a stool at the FHC bar.
And if you go to the right site. I can see your wifes name your address, home value. Its size and how much you make and your education level as well as age.
No its from looking up your name. Not like going to the courthouse and pulling your house data...I could do that too if I wanted. I also can youll the records and see if you have a loan and how much it was for on the house.
Sorry for the confusion Clem, I was just making a joke/insinuation. I was referencing the part where you said, "It's size". I'm well aware all of the house data public information. There are websites around that will tell you all sorts of historical data on house purchase prices, tax valuations, etc.
All that info. is out there, not much you can do about it at this point. But, when it comes to firearms I own, that should not be available. In reference to a previous post, does law enforcement have that information? That episode in Calif. leads me to believe they do. Don't know about Co., my old LEO friends claimed they didn't have that info. I dunno?
I'm sure I'm on the list, lots of them. Being on the CC list doesn't bother me, I just don't think I should have to buy that right back. But I'm convinced if you don't exercise your rights, you'll lose them. And I like to be armed.
