Seems like a lot of work. I could buck and split a few day's worth of wood in the 15 minutes of my life that video woulda wasted if I actually watched it all. I'll recycle my junk mail.
I think the idea is not to make enough logs to heat through the winter but to recycle paper waste into something useful.
I tried something similar. Takes them forever to dry out. Also, do not use these if you have a catalyst stove!
I have a friend that makes them but he only makes them around 3 inches in diameter using PVC pipe; smaller diameter dries quicker.
It is best not to use coated paper stock. My friend uses a paper shredder and his comes out fine as they are. I think they would be great in a small camp stove for cooking. My friend makes them small, around three inches in diameter, and one could break them to the length needed in the camp stove.
My next door neighbor at my last house made the shiny colored inserts that came in the Sunday paper or the mailbox. Junk mail I guess. He always talked about buying a pellet mill and making biomass pellets out of the waste. He talked about doing a lot of those kinds of things, but never did any of them. I always wanted to see the inside of their house and barn
I keep thinking about trying this. .. but it doesn't have a lot of appeal. Time, effort, mess, drying time, ink, why bother.
