Low teens is good working weather as long as there is no wind. Give me a good pair of boots and gloves and I'll go all day.
I'd probably do just that, split on site, but the lot is buildable, I need to get bucking and get the heck out of there quick.
Worked the lot today, almost finished bucking. Will be running loads to the house all day tomorrow. Pics to follow

Good day out there on the lot today. Made 12 trips with bucked logs back to the house. The pile ended up being 4.5 ft tall and maybe 22 ft long, 12 ft wide. I took the larger logs to the driveway, I'll split them this winter. Any guesses on a cord count here?

Not sure how many cords but that's my kind of music. Once you split and stack the pile always seems smaller.
The trip was just as sweet, 2 miles lot to home. This whole thing is a gift from the tree gods. Today is my last day there, a couple loads and some cutting left. I'll be happy to be out, 6 days of back breaking work just to beat the excavator, he comes tomorrow morning
Elm I was told, but not sure. These logs were nearly 1/3 less the weight of the beech. Green beech is some heavy sh#t.

The splits made from those rounds will be perfect. Serious BTUs in a year or 2 to be released in you house. 2 miles, don't get much better than that . Hard work, but fun& rewarding hard work
