I certainly hope we don't get slammed. Not ready to sit in the plow truck for hrs on end just yet . Got home from vacation last night and in storm prep mode today
I'm right in the bullseye. American meteorologists say we are getting 2-3 feet. European meteorologists say we could get 3-4. Hauling wood into the house today and tomorrow!
Eric - further north in Virginia we're looking at a lot more! I'll count us as lucky if we only get 18". Actually unlucky, the more snow the better I say!
this is currently set up exactly like the noreaster last year that ended up being a bust for most and a slammer for some. always prepared though. at least this will get me working on that truck.
I guess time will tell, my update is now from Saturday to sunday. I'm ready at whatever mother nature throws at me. I also got my roof rake ready as well...be safe bud
Yes, appears we are in for it down here as well. I have that dead red oak still in the woods, need to open a small road to get the tractor back there. Guess it won't get out before the snow.
Major storm coming and me sitting here with no chimney, no stove. I hope the power stays on. Would be nice to sit in front of a cozy fire while the snow swirled down outside.
We got SLAMMED this morning with a full inch of snow and it pretty much shut the city down the entire morning. All the schools are closed and all the highways were parking lots. I don't know what get's into people around here when it snows! I saw folks jumping over 3 lanes, cutting cars off to make immediate left turns. Then the car behind them get's mad and jumps into the middle lane, not bothering to see if I'm there! The roads weren't even that bad! Sure, they were a little slick and covered in a 1/2" of snow, but I made it in fine in my rear-wheel drive car.
North or South, it does not make any difference; people drive like idiots even if it is snowing. It is like they have no grey cells at all, what they want to do is what they do. Dad use to drive in the snow and he never had any issues but then so did everyone else. Today the roads are full of idiots that can not seem to want to slow down for any reasons.
Partly sarcasm and partly not liking super dry snow that will drift easily. In the teens it is sticky enough not to drift too much but still light enough to be easy to move. I ended up only having to shovel about 4 inches of a fairly uniform depth. Good snow quality all around for me.
