Our car might be a goner.

Its only worth about $9k
Its a 2012 VW Passat SE with the 2.5L.

I grew a new pair of testi's earlier and wondered outside for a few.
Popped the hood.. the passenger side unibody frame rail is shoved into the engine.
Not sure how.. but the alternator and A/C compressor are all crooked and not inline with
the other pulleys and what not. Its all mangled under the hood.
Doesnt look too bad looking at it from 20ft away.
Everything is shoved over towards the drivers side.
The drivers side fender is shoved back into the door.
The passenger side tire hangs out beyond the fender.
Point of impact was at the passenger corner and on across.
Not sure how the license plate hung on.

 

What happened?

 

I need to get out and cut some wood this week. It has been too long since running a saw!

 

Fiance was on her way to her Mom's saturday morning, was turning left, had a green arrow.
A lady was coming from oncoming side, blew the red light and plastered my fiance.
My Fiance, Rachel, swears the lady never even hit her brakes.
They hit at about 40mph.
Lady admitted to running the light and trying to eat while she was driving.

We have full coverage and already have our claim started.

Its been a nitemare since Saturday morning..

I have my Sierra and my silverado. We picked up a rental for her on Saturday within a few hours after the accident.

 

Yeah she's sportin a Chrysler caravan or whatever they call them these days. I keep calling her a soccer mom.
Good times, keepin our spirits high.

 

There was a big moon halo on display here tonight. Should start snowing soon.

 

12 hour days and taking kids places l, plus doing wife's stuff. I tired. A couple days off from job now so hopefully I'll cut wood in the morning and maybe sneak a nap after lunch before wife and kids get home from school!

 

Oh boy do I need caffeine. And some kind of good energy. Maybe eggs a little later.

 

Caffeine....good! First cup tasted pretty good this morning. Gonna need another, or two, though. Supposed to have a crawl space today. YECH!

 

First I'll get breakfast cooked for all. After wife and kids go to school I'll do bills and get them mailed out. Then it will be back home to finish clean up of the little bit of snow we got the last few days. (I've been slacking on that.) Then I will have to bring wood in from under the porch. Then get out and cut some wood to add to next year's supply. It's going to be a busy day. .

 

You guys are way behind on the Caffeine - I am almost done with my 3rd cup (12 oz - not those wimpy 6 oz sizes). Course left home at 4:40 am for work - already had one cup down and downed the other on my 45 minute drive. been here for 1 hour and got about 1/4 of my latest cup left. Will get another cup in an hour or so, and be good for the day.

And people wonder why I bounce my knee all the time (not from caffeine - cause I always have to pee )
