    I'm Red Elm, I've been on some of the other forums for a few years now. I've been looking for a forum that is a "Woodsman's Hang Out" and a family of friends for awhile. After looking around I think I've found it. 54 years old, been in the timber in one way or another all my life, brush cutting, small scale logging, timber stand improvement, firewooding, hunting, trapping etc. Love it. I live in the river bluffs along the Illinois river.

    Yes there is, and more hedge, honey locust, black locust and red elm within a quarter mile of the house than I could burn in several lifetimes! Very blessed to live here.

    This one from a couple of winters back. We get these amazing sunsets in wintertime, I think it must be from all the moister in the air from the rivers. Illinois river 5 miles west, Mississippi river another 45-50 west of that.
