Ok guys I was having a bit of fun today and thought I would share.
I have been wanting to do a side by side between these two. So here it is. I was hoping that the 6100 would be able to replace the 056 for some larger take downs.

Hmm. Pretty similar, but I think the bigger saw stihl won.

Lol stihl won lol. Well an 87 cc saw verses a 60cc. I know you can stand on that 056 with a 20 in bar and I feel like I am trying to Walk 3 wolverines while they fight each other.

The higher cc's makes a big difference in torque.

However, while the dolly is down about a third in cc's, it does pretty well. Newer tech, it's good stuff.

OH it surely isn't faster. The 056 Is just ripping and shaking and is like holding on to a Tasmanian devil by the ears. And the dolmar is like a holding a soft little kitten just relaxed and purring away.

Yup, 4.5 to 5 seconds faster (for the second saw) on my timer. That Dolmar must have a good sharp chain too, not sure if that's what gave it such a fast time.

Yes the dolmar was faster, by 2 seconds or so. Smaller saw more chain speed, put 28 inch gear on both of them and run the race on a 25 to 30 inch log, and results will be different.

Put up your stop watch or I-phone timer near the screen and time it, I did, and it's way more than 2 seconds.

Smaller saw has nothing to do with it,new engine technology has everything to do with it.Those older Stihls were slow.

I have a 6100 Dolmar and I can tell you they are very powerful for a 60cc saw. I've had mine 18 months or so and it still amazes me. 7900 sits on the shelf a lot now.

Hmmm now I need to find a 28 in bar in a K095 mount. Lol ya that 056 may not be a speed queen but it also doesn't slow down for much either.

They are available CoreyB. I have a K095 mount and was looking for a 24 inch but when I found a source it also listed a 28 inch. Wish I could remember where that was.

I have a 24 in bar for the 6100 as well. I was kinda joking about a 28 just to re do the test. Lol I have a 36 for the 056, and that is what that 056 is for, the big stuff and milling if I ever get the chance to.

That Dolmar crapped all over the Stihl. Maybe in bigger wood with a longer bar and chain it would be different but with what is on there now the Dolmar is clearly quicker.

A stop watch always helps.. :) Good call Ted.

I have the Dolmar faster as well. Average of around 4 to 5 sec.

Don't rock the saw as much and your times will be more consistent. Just cut straight down.

Bigger doesn't always mean faster. I've seen a ported 346 hand newer 70, 80, and a few 90 cc saws their azz.
