Well, you know at least he went up a little bit instead of going straight out... just in case the power went out he would have some natural draft. Wouldnt want the stove to spew more smoke into the room than the plywood panel burning.

And why we all have to pay higher rates every year. I had a neighbor ask me why I clean my pellet stove so often and tell me that it's only needed once a year

Pellets, Beer and my trusty dog make whatever happened at work during the day disappear. I suspect its mostly the beer but this sounds better, doesnit?

I bet you see it all, LW. Great question Will.

Curious about this also, does the Tech write a report / you have keep it on file or something?

( Like the new Avatar pic, BTW. )

I never say I've seen it all! Pretty easy to tell the install isn't up to code with a little experience.....don't do any more (its safer being broken)....why risk fixing the unit only to have a fire, or someone die? Tech fills out a service slip saying he/she advised the owner to rectify the situation, they refused, and he didn't fix it. In extreme situations, yea, go to a code official. Imagine the guilt if the next night you read that the whole household succumbed to CO poisoning?

eh, virtually negligible draft with the typical installation, straight out or vertical......take a draft reading sometime....you'll see
