I start the wife's car every morning and I'm usually wearing size 14 Croc's and no socks, cold is one thing, there's too many open spaces for snow. Snow means it's time to put on the muck boots. They instantly keep my feet and calves warm.

OK this business of cleaning these pig pen pellets is down right nasty. Every week I'm cleaning copious amounts of soot and dust out of the exhaust pipe. Time for a leaf blower!

Minimum requirements for mph? I won't need it for leaves, the winds just keep the leaves blowing down the road.

oh, and I remember reading about protecting a sensor?

    I should've bought the LG's, I should've bought the LG's, I should've bought the LG's :picard:

It needs to be an electric one that has the option of vac bag for leaves , because what you'll be doing is sucking the ash out not blowing [ I know there is a joke in there ]

Edit: My Bad if you already know that it needs the vac option , most are in the 200 mph range which is more than enough.

Looks like the weather is going to get nasty. Were under a wind advisory as the temp drops, they say we could see wind gusts up to 50 mph. :headbang:

I found a 25o MPH electric Toro? Sounds like the right tool.

Is there a switch/pressure switch or something I need to protect before doing this?

I had a minute and cleaned the stack today. What a freaking mess. My wood stove does't get that dirty. I realize that my exploring the various combustion options with these pellets was contributing to the the soot, but the amount of ash dust was too much. The ash pan was completely filled again. The good news is the black soot is no longer showing, so something is right. Yippie!!

too lazy to read everything right now, but i have read that you should take the hose off the vacuum switch for the leaf blower procedure.
i think many people don't, but it could be a better safe than sorry kind of thing.

i also read a second person helping by opening and gently "slamming" the door helps shake more stuff loose.

i can always imagine uses for a rubber mallet though.
i've read of folks using blocks of wood to bang on the stove, but there is nothing more elegant than a rubber mallet.
well, maybe there is, but still, it's a beautiful thing.

+1, something to tame down the wind ..

Glad to read no soot in the venting - sorry to read you're getting your ash kicked w/ those Maeders though.

( The 'switch' is the vacuum hose line that leads to the vacuum switch - you will want to disconnect it before LBT, and reconnect after, that hose is on the combustion blower leg, just after the motor on the stove here, dunno the location on your stove. Disconnecting is strictly a precaution against borking the switch when using LBT. ) Edit, already covered by StEarl above.
