Erh, um, uh, that is subject to debate. I had a Quad 1200 that made a baseball-sized clinker every day and required two shutdowns regardless of what brand of pellets were burned. Dane's P61A would burn gravel if that's what I put in the hopper. Scraping the firepot while the stove is running is one thing, having to shut it down completely to drop a clinker is another.

yeah, i think my popcorn tag would show i was jesting. (playfully trolling)
    it's an age old debate.

fwiw, my heatilator has the same burn pot as the quad, and i have never had a clinker.
and with the weak chinese motor (they started using those on both the quads and the heatilators at some point) replaced with a nice gleason avery, it's an absolute dream.

i have said elsewhere on the internet (cough cough) that the harman would be a range rover and the heatilator a subaru.
that being said, i drive a subaru and have a heatilator and am delighted with both.

honestly though, i love that i have to do basically nothing to the burn pot but pull the cleaning rod once in a while.
and probably half of those are just habit and not really even needed.

I don't have any of those issues with my CB1200 . Occasionally some small deposits in the fire pot but I just pull the clean out handle once a day and they drop to the ash pan , but I do run soft wood premium pellets .

With a fir pellet I could likely go all season and never open the door. I have yet to open mine with the sets(have not counted) and 20 some odd bags of MWP through it so far.

And I can still see through the glass, Bet you can't after only a few bags burned!!

10-15 bags of last year's Geneva, about 10 bags of MWP and now several Lacrete LaCrete is only giving a small amount of haze on part of the glass. But I will admit that the OCD in me still wipes it.

I know someone who hasnt touched their glass yet on an XXV using MWP and FSU and you can still see through it.

    :p

remember,i am burning Doug Fir....glass not cleaned yet this year, so would be a foolish bet, you'd lose.....I will snap a pic when I get home tonight....Ive only burned a bit over a ton so far though.....not really a fair comparison though, North Idaho fir versus Maine......like comparing Roseanne Barr to Giada Dilaurentis.......
