It's nasty here with 30mph winds and 22 degree temps. 76 in the living room though. [IMG]

14 now, and back up to 72 inside with 3 Maple splits in the stove since 6:30.
The 6 I put in at 11:30 didn't make it quite as long as I thought, so I added a couple more about 4-4:30. Hoping this'll get us to the bedtime load, but I doubt it.

When you get the cat stove of your choice, those short burn times will be but a memory.

Darn right... I keep the wood on our porch and it usually does a decent job of blocking wind but not tonight... Im gonna have to warm the truck up 15minutes early in the morning... 5am...

Snowing like a big dog outside now. The temp is below 0 again and the wind has died down quite a bit but not yet calm.

Feel sorry for you guys out east with the high winds. At least you have your stoves going!

Actually made it to 1° for a couple hours this afternoon. At -12° right now headed to aroind -18° overnight. Kept the house 71-72 with another full load around 3. I will remove a little ash before the night load around 9:30ish. Not much ash build up though due to a great draft with these temps and bumping the primary up a bit every so often!! Will load her up and hope for 67-68ish in the morning!

You are going to be colder than us for tonight. Our lows are only to -10. Then again, they could be wrong, right?

Since my stove room work, those times are making me fairly happy.
However, the cat stove of my choice would really make me happy-er. Gooder call.

Wow busy day on this thread! I went skiing with the family today and just sat down to over 60 posts to this thread alone! Sounds like some winter going on in many places. Good to kill any of the stubborn bugs still hanging on! Im off the chairlift and back to the stove. Its a cozy 8f outside with the stove top at 660f....... full of lodgepole pine.
