My memory didn't fail me this time, it was you! What heat setting are you running since it's mild out? What kind of pellets? Smell is from where or what does it smell like? Tell us about your venting? Pics could be helpful to troubleshoot.

The latest mode made to my top portion of my burnpot with gasket and I blocked another 20% of my air for overfire so more directed towards my glass air wash. I'm up to 40% away from overfire towards the glass air wash, hope it works better.

Working on taking some photos. I shut down the system last night so I can inspect and clean it today. I was running on t stat mode level 4. Should the blower stay on when the system is shutdown? I'm with it now and the blower is still going even though there is no flame. I thought the blower was temperature controlled.

I fixed to blower. Looks like the previous owner had the blower set to manual instead of full auto. I just pulled out the knob to set it to fully auto.

I'm burning wood pellets that were delivered in bulk by Kingdom Bio Fuels.

Can you post a video of your burn on level 3 or 4 (after the furnace has stabilized)? It's easiest to upload to YouTube, then post the link here.

During the video, make sure your damper is wide open (clean the glass before the vid). This will tell us exactly how much air is going through your system

I'm going to add your furnace serial number to the thread that is stickied at the top of the page.

I'm not a big fan on the plastic inlet cap(too much restriction for my liking) but then again it might be fine. The long horizontal exhaust could be another factor to consider.
343AMC, what size of rope gasket on the door? I was going to use the graphite type.

Lively flame but I am no expert yet. Different burnpot than mine. Someone should chime in soon.

I'd still like to a little more air. I have a video I just took of my whole start up. From beginning to end ( when ignitor turns off). I'll upload it now. It's 8 minutes and my son is playing Xbox, so it may take awhile. :)

I used 5/8" rope gasket from Tractor Supply. The old one was mashed pretty flat, but it has been on there for nearly three years.

The flame looks thin, but that's because it's start up and there is no real base of coals. After a few more minutes. The flame gets to be about as wide as the pot.

Also, my flame always leaned to the left, well I opened up the 5 holes on the left side of the pot and kept the 5 closed on the right. I think that 1 or 2 need plugged up on the left, or opened on the right and I'll finally have a straight flame (taken about 5 years to do this.. So for those testing, remember, even I am still testing).

On a freshly cleaned unit, I get sparks in under a minute and flame in just under 2 minutes. Then I close the damper to where my set scree is set (1/2 closed), I let the ignitor turn off... Then the damper is opened all the way.

I do a little commentary when I close and open the damper.

I just tucked it together at the bottom and called it good.

The latch side of my door is the hardest to get a good seal on. I'm guessing you have the same style latch as mine. It's not so much a latch as it is friction and the grace of God keeping it shut. I put a straight edge on that side yesterday and it's a bit convex. Might try to deal with that in the spring.

My video was right after the flame stabilized, so there wasn't a coal bed. Is the damper on the back, the only way to tune the furnace? Where do you think I should set it? I'm guessing wide open isn't the correct setting. Thanks!

On the lcd models , the furnace has a countdown from 5 hours when you turn it off. In this time, the exhaust blower runs to avoid smoking out the house. I believe your referring to the Tstat fan option for the convection blower. There is a Sw option.....which turns on and off depending if you have front door open or closed.

If it was wide open in your video? Then you need more air. So that means you need to add the bigger impeller, bigger exhaust manifold, updated sail switch, or modify the burn pot (block some holes and add some gasket material to eliminate burn pot bypasses)

There is a switch on all units where you can run the distribution blower on Manual so it won't shut off. If it's pushed in, it runs continuously, when pulled out, it goes by the On and Off temperature settings, that you set it to

Do you have links to where I can purchase the bigger impeller, exhaust manifold, and sail switch? Your flame definitely looks more violent than mine.
