let's see if I can get this to come up right. found on twitter ,comparison of snow cover 1/9 for 2015 then 2016?
43*Logan, 45*Plymouth. forecast almost to 60*/heavy rain, then the bottom starts to fall out? -8* what a shock to the system that would be for us this ?winter?
Winter has arrived in Illinois! Got a couple inches of snow, 10*F, and a north west wind around 22mph. They say wind chill is -9*F, but it feels colder since I'm not used to it yet. The fire is keeping us toasty warm!
Ya Mother Nature tossed a minor hissy fit at us yesterday, and then shut the heat off, reminds me of my Ex.
I think winter is over here. Warmed up and all the frost accumulations disappeared! We never did get any snow.
typical winter pattern eh. west cold, east warm, then vice versa. there are some models calling for coast to coast cold. ninos have a tendency to mess up the atmosphere, don't they
I posted that radar image above of what I thought was a "still shot" with a huge blue snow storm literally "at my door" in NE Ohio. I see now that what I transferred was a live, continually updating radar image!!!! It is not going to make sense to folks who read that in the future. Be advised! Maybe one of you mods should just delete that radar image, no reason to tie up bandwidth continually updating that! (so folks, if it's not there above you know what happened).
Looks like winter is arriving tonight. 2 snow storms this week. Colder temps. Big change since a few days ago when it poured 2.5" of rain in 40 degree temps. Kind of glad it happened while we had just a trace of snow. Not so many hard banks of snow trapping all that water.
We're supposed to get 1 to 3 inches starting around 3PM, just enough to raise hell with the commuters
were looking at 1-2'' ,but there is talk of high wind gusts so that means tree damage and that means wood .
