This hammer head was in the box. Looks like it was used for pulverizing something. It measures 4" long, the head is approximately 1 5/8" square. Any ideas?

I wonder if it's used for hides?

I got some un flex head ones when I was working on toyota last week from HF. I then saw the flex head ones later after I bought the un flex head gear set. Was only $3 more

Picked up this Craftsman 40" Griplatch box on Thursday. This has been in my buddy's pawn shop for several months, finally pulled the trigger.

This is one heavy unit, had to move it in on my dolly.

It is in good shape, a couple of scratches and 2 small dimples on the lid. Per the Craftsman.com website, it appears to retail for over $500, I gave $150 out the door (they had it marked at $275).

I put this one in my basement, I have these in the garage.

I have the same series of box but mine are only 26" single bank units. First ones I ever bought and they are a great buy!

Been slowly filling the new to me (a year ago) utility tool cap on my pickup/service truck. A really good set of wrenches and sockets, but most other tools in or going in are on the cheaper side as this is only a rescue/service truck so we can limp a big truck back to the shop where the major surgery takes place .
We got a Harbor Freight in closest big town a couple weeks ago. Needed some cheap tarps to close in an office project inside a commercial building I own. Have it framed in ,,, need to close it in and quick heat to finish project. While there picked up a 1/2" wobble extension set , a set of 11" needle nose, and a pliers set. Less than $20. Grand opening sale. That place has a lot of chit!!!:bug:

If ya haven't been totally spoiled and turned to a tool snob like me, it's paradise. And a lot of those tools aren't so bad really. Lifetime guarantee on hand tools too. Just a shame that you know you'll prolly use it.:rofl:

Yea the tools at HF today are really better than 5 years ago. But Yea if you use them you will return ratchets and sockets. Wrenches are good but a tad shorter then quality ones for given wrench sets. But lots of guys get them for service trucks. There about all I have as its what I can afford. I seriously can do the same work with them vs the same thing in Mac or Snap on. Now the latter do have some more custom tools that HF dont have but I'm not talking about that stuff or the crazy wrench sets.

HF does have S wrenches, stub bikes, long handle, wratchet, wratchet flex, offset. And maybe a few I missed. The dont have the thin wrenches and a tin of others though.

NEVER owned a SnapOn tool and I've actually made it through life just fine ! :D
10-15 years ago I bought 10+ wrench and socket sets from Northern Tool because I was so impressed with their quality. Mostly big sets over 1 1/4. Got lucky and bought several large Ingersol Rand deep well impact sets for CHEAP at NT also over the years.
Last spring I bought another basic wrench set from NT for the service truck. Klutch brand was all they had at the time and was VERY disappointed in the quality. Wrenches were sloppy on bolts and sharp edges from stamping/forging process. :mad:That set ended up in the shop. I'll check out the quality of their wrenches next time I stop.
Theres never been a tool store within reasonable driving distance around here. This may turn out to be detrimental as I go by this store almost daily during our busy season.
