It's been cold.....pellet usage is way up

    You know you're in the upper midwest when you see "Low 0, not as cold" in the forecast.

    Supposed to get to around -5 here tonight, and that's with Lake Michigan warming the air up. Next week it might not make it much above 0.

    yea, I have spent a bit of time trying to explain to customers that as the thermometer dips, most folks BTU consumption must increase to keep the place at a comfortable level.....I must be some kinda genius......here is a mathematical formular I just came up with...look out Einstein!

    colder temp = more pellets, whereas, warmer temp = less pellets :cool:

    Used 1.5 bags from yesterday in the Fahrenheit. But also burned 5 loads of wood in the wood Eater in that same time frame. :) House is a toasty 73° everywhere ;)

    I did an official count and so far I have used 66 bags for the season. Pretty much right on par with the last 3 seasons.

    33 bags since last cleaning(stove only), So I guess its time. Tomorrows supposed to be in the 40's so I'm gonna due the first full clean of the season. Prolly due a full blown pipe cleaning as well. If I can find were the Mrs. left the leaf blower!

    -18F right now at noon… neither my Buick nor my Dodge Ram will start. The Ram has 30wt. oil in it… no surprise. The Buick is getting a battery charge right now.

    I have an appointment to have some surgery done tomorrow @ 7AM. May have to take a taxi...

    The old Buick is running… now -17F. They say -25Ftonite… I have a 7AM curtain call at the hospital (outpatient carpal tunnel surgery)… should be home in the afternoon.
