Nice place to be if you area snowman! I shouldn't say anything, this place also has its share of winter weather challenges. The rain today has taken the inch of ice of the trees. Nice to see them moving in the wind without dropping limbs.
-21 locust oak and other stuff, stove can't really keep up so the heat is kickin on every now and then
Glad I don't live here. http://www.weather.com/weather/aler...ificance=W&areaid=NYZ006&office=KBUF&etn=0001
It was a little wet because it was 25 to 30 when it was snowing now it has cooled off a lot. Had to run to snow blower in first gear
OAT 5* right now, windchill -16* stove is keeping us nice and warm. Last nights load went 14 hours and the house didn't lose any temp, I love these stoves.
5* with -15* wind chill. House is at a comfy 76 degrees. Last night I loaded at 8 pm and the house was 80* at 6 am so we waited until about 9am to reload.
It rained here today and temp got up to 51'F. Crazy. I let both stoves die out as I went to sleep last night. Pouring rain today and it is now dropping quickly and snowing here. It's supposed to drop into the teens sometime tonight. I cleaned out both stoves, cleaned the glass, and got them both ready for a cold start. It is going to be a mess, my driveway collects water.. in one spot and it will freeze solid. ...oh well..
Oldhippie. You will probably think I am a little crazy, but that's okay. My wife does too! Those conditions you are having sound similar to what we had before I felt and heard these frost quakes we had. We had a warm up, some rain and melted some snow and ice, then a quick drop in temperature down close to zero. Let me know if you feel any funny vibrations/shaking/booming over the next few days. Will ya? I know we had them here. I guess it will depend on how much water/moisture is in the soil/rock, when the freezing happens, and how fast the freezing happens. And if it gets cold enough, fast enough ........ LOFL In other words they don't know much about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryoseism
