I moderated elsewhere for seven years and some of those AS threads are morbidly fascinating. It's often a problem figuring who started a feud without a lot of backtracking and AS is too big for even full-time mods once the bush fire gets out of control. It seems they want some controversy to draw an audience, but don't know where to draw the line. Take the 2 cycle oil thread for example. A troll comes back after a 4 years absence and several bans, and immediately tells the thread starter that he's stupid. He should have gone to permanent ban camp right then and there. Instead his language improves a week later, suggesting he finally got a warning. However, he continued to disturb things and some members started joshing him. For some reason they were the ones that got in trouble with the mods.

Here's a tip if someone claims he is an engineer. Ask he which school or college of engineering he graduated from? Which professional engineering associations is he a member of? Which states or provinces is he licensed to practice engineering in? One of our mods was an old pro who flushed out a couple of phonies real quick with those questions.

Does it seem like this thread is heading somewhere it shouldn't ? Or is it just me ?
Let's drop it and let this thread die of natural causes !

Honestly this thread has flirted with the line for its entire existence. I do GENUINELY thank the mods for letting the words here be said, its a testament to this community that the thread stayed clean and objective with such a crappy topic.

Scotty Overkill , Grizzly Adam MasterMech, DexterDay, Well Seasoned , Pallet Pete , jtakeman , swags WeldrDave Thank you to ALL of the mods HERE, for making such an awesome community and giving us users the freedom to be civil human beings, an oddity in today's world.

I am not much of the bash AS person but some things over there(discussing the issues that lead to the banning and removal of sponsorships) are off limits. This has remained a civil discussion and that is much appreciated by all of us involved and considering what mdavlee and millermodsaws experienced it could have easily went off the rails. No plans by me to leave AS ......but the more i am here the more i like it and will likely make a habit of posting more over here....i have an upcoming swap of a 6400H over to a 7910H...kinda boring and routine but its the best i can do for this place since porting and the more extensive modding is above my pay grade.

I too hope this thread dies of neglect and old age.

We have toe'd the line a time or two but I like that a civil discussion can be had without lines being drawn, sides chosen and shots fired. I wouldn't have intervened anymore than I already have unless things start spiraling out of control.

Again, I don't like to bash anywhere. This is my home, yet I still go to another site or two. It's all about info and friends to me..

As for the swap? I love to see any swap, rebuild, port build, muff mod, etc.. No matter how much you know? You always learn something. Knowledge and Wisdom (both yourself taking it in and delving it out), and friendship. . It's what these sites are about.

Plus, I plan to either make it to your shop soon, or have you up for one of our GTG's. :) I've heard numerous good things about you. You're a cool cat in my book. To have that many who like and respect you? It takes time to build that kind of relationship with people.. Good on you bro

    Thank you!!

We have at least one GTG a year. I'll probably be attending one in Michigan this year. I'd love to meet you as well.

You can delete what ever you want, I'm sure AS is set up to back almost simultaneously so if they "wanted" to bring back content they could anyways.
I know when the guy down south had RS hacked 90% of the info was backed up , but at the "time" we couldn't find anyone savy enough to bring it back .
AS has always had the biggest chainsaw forum and always will. All this has basicly happened many times before, couple major posters move on and there will be many new ones just waiting to take there place. its no biggie Daren is crude business man AS will live

Didn't mean to leave the rest of you knuckleheads out. There isn't a person on here that I wouldn't like to shake hands with and hand a frothy beverage! :drunk:

Now some of you riff raff I may shake the living pizz out of said beverage before I gave it to you!:dex:

Be alcohol abuse if you didn't. Neglect requires a call to Alcohol Protective Services.
