It's 18 degrees tonight so I'm just burning down some coals before loading up the Liberty with Beech.
Was 12°F, out last night, 72°F inside, loaded the stove with 1 ash round and the rest Hickory splits, low was 7°F, 12 hours later it was 66°F ln the house, I had to burn some coals down before a reloading. 21°F now, burning ash in a couple pieces of white oak, low 15°F tonight
We're warm compared to this time last night....... sitting at 14° headed down to 7° All oak in the stove including a mammoth round in hopes of a decent coal bed by the a.m.
Yeah, the cold snap is headed our way. It'll be butt cold this weekend. I loaded 4 nice shag splits in the quad. Choocharama!!!!! We'll be just fine here, my wife and I with the 2 labs.... Huge lazy flames with bit of blue flames at times. I'm bringing a good stack in on Saturday, as it will drop Saturday night.
A good fairing and heated grips can make a big difference. Before this bike my hands were always the limiting factor for cold weather riding.
It's 13 at 3:18 am , I had put a load at 7pm last night so getting ready to reload it with bl locust and ash , had to wake up and give my little one a nebulizer treatment.
10 here, burning oak in the Encore and Malloy's in the XXV, inside temp is 72. River is frozen over in the backyard.
Been fluctuating from -1 to 3 above since 3:30 this morning. First sunshine yesterday that I've seen in weeks (one of the draw backs of living near the GL's). Another day of blue skies on tap. Mostly oak , lil maple and 20lbs of coal. Rinse and repeat the rest of winter.
We went to 24. We are 28 now. Loaded load and some black locust and I think a split or two of hickory last night. And the same this mourning. These temps push my stove hard without insulation in the far bedrooms.
Its been going down to near zero here at night....it will be a full cord week for this guy I love these cold snaps since I can show my wife why we cut wood all of the time.
It's 35f here, heading for 41. Pool is frozen over, but the White river's still running. Easy heat pellets from Rural King in the hastings, cherry and ash in the princess. It's about 72 downstairs, 70 or so upstairs. I don't know bout you guys, but as far as I'm concerned, it can stay like this till spring. Just cold enough to need a fire, no subzero craziness.
3200 sq ft house, rather large indoor wood furnace. Also the wife wants it at 75 in there, so the wood is a burning!!
